  • Provide guidance on hospital and health system operational compliance issues and assist clients in developing and implementing compliance strategies.
  • Conduct regulatory diligence in connection with healthcare mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
  • Research and analyze complex healthcare regulatory issues and prepare memoranda, client alerts, and other written work product.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across practice groups to support healthcare clients in regulatory, transactional, and operational matters.
  • Maintain direct client contact and participate in developing practical, business-oriented solutions to regulatory challenges.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Candidate must be active and in good standing with the local state Bar, or be eligible to waive in.
  • 3-6 years of substantive healthcare regulatory experience at a law firm.
  • Experience advising provider-side healthcare clients, including hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, and other healthcare providers.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and related federal and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating physician/provider agreements and advising on provider contracting matters.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance programs, operational compliance issues, self-disclosures, and regulatory investigations.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also handling matters independently.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, possess strong client service skills, demonstrate initiative and sound judgment, and have the interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a collaborative and growing healthcare practice.
