About the role

The Role

You'll be the first senior growth hire at Numeric and establish the demand generation engine that unlocks the next level of scale.

Numeric recently launched the Financial Data Platform, an ERP replacement that’s a fundamentally new take on a centuries old way of doing accounting. This isn’t an incremental product that’s 15% better than what’s existed before. This is a totally new way of doing the work.

The year ahead will be a big one for the company - the FDP is getting attention - it’s your role to convert that attention into pipeline and drive awareness to help attract best fit customers.

It’s a fairly unique spot to be in. You’ll get the testing & building from scratch that typically comes with a Seed / Series A company role for the newer product. But you’ll also inherit working demand gen motions, hundreds of happy customers, and a content and product marketing team to support your work.

What you’ll do

This role will report into Numeric’s Head of Marketing. In the position, you will:

  • Act as a player coach to start with 2-3 direct reports and overtime expand the growth function.
  • Map campaigns and channels to pipeline growth across products, partnering closely with a working BDR motion.
  • Build an enterprise ABM motion to penetrate top target accounts.
  • Own paid channels (with agency support) as our chief experimenter.
  • Partner with product marketing and content leadership to create strong feedback loops and share growth learnings.
  • Set the quality bar for growth at Numeric: world-class editing, feedback, and coaching along with leading by example with your own strong deliverables.
  • Form a clear point of view on what growth should be as AI reshapes the discipline and help ensure Numeric remains on the edge of what’s possible.

Few hires have the potential to shape a company’s trajectory like this one. There’s a ton of whitespace to run at and a supportive founding team who understands the value of marketing.

Who you are

  • 7+ years of experience, with 5+ years in growth marketing.
  • You've owned growth end-to-end —you've defined what to work on, not just executed against someone else's plan.
  • You dive in. It’s clear to your teammates that you care about your work, the company, and the people around you. You raise your hand in the classroom of life - you ask questions, you bring ideas, and you are invested.
  • You’re a blend of scientist and creative. You love a spreadsheet just as much as a sticky note. (See here and here for a few examples of Numeric marketing creativity in action!)
  • You're a strong editor and coach who raises the quality of everyone around you.
  • You've marketed a technical B2B product (not purely consumer).
  • You’re serious about excellent work - but not serious about yourself. You view a great team as one that both laughs together and creates magic together.

Nice to have

  • You’ve worked in both smaller start-up settings (Series A / Seed) and seen scale firsthand (Series C+).
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or fintech.
  • A background (or exposure to) events marketing.

About Numeric

Backed by IVP, Menlo, and Founders Fund most recently in a $81M Series B, Numeric's tackling one of the most technically challenging (and durable!) arenas of tech today.

The TL;DR: Accounting runs on a data model that's centuries old. While Salesforce reinvented the customer database and Rippling the employee record, the financial database has remained constrained by the journal entry. The output is a sprawl of tools, Excel files acting as a databases, and AI that's hand-cuffed by lack of context.

Until Numeric.

Numeric's vision is to make the system of record the system of decision. A world where every role at every company can make better, real-time decisions with their financial data. Instead of seeing accounting work as spreadsheet driven, we believes in a world where 'finance engineers' are architecting a system that looks more like a modern data platform than today's ERPs.

The market is massive. The timing is right for reinvention. And we've assembled an invested and talented (often silly) team to make the magic happen. If you're serious about your work and not too serious about yourself, you'll love working here :)
