This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a geographically distributed communications network infrastructure to ensure high availability and service reliability. In addition to network operations responsibilities, the GNOC Engineer will support spare parts inventory management, warehouse operations, and travel to remote sites for equipment maintenance, replacement, and troubleshooting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-line technical support to customers and internal stakeholders via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on communications, network, and related infrastructure systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams on escalations, upgrades, and service-impacting changes.
  • Utilize monitoring and fault management platforms to track system health, performance, and availability.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, including receiving, storage, stock tracking, audits, and inventory documentation.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipment of replacement equipment to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Travel to operational sites throughout North America to perform equipment replacement, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in a 24x7 operational support environment, including shift work, weekends, and on-call support as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective during high-priority incidents.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced operational environment.
