Why we're hiring

The Global PMO Manager, Data will support the Global Programme Director, Data in mobilising, governing and controlling WPP’s global Data transformation programme. The role will provide the structure, quality and discipline needed to keep delivery clear, connected and moving at pace across workstreams, markets, technology teams and delivery partners.

Working closely with the Programme Director, workstream leads, PMOs and stakeholders across Enterprise Technology, the postholder will own the day-to-day programme management office rhythm: plans, RAID, governance, reporting, dependency management, actions, stage gates and delivery assurance. They will help create one version of the truth for the programme, enabling senior leaders to make informed decisions and ensuring the programme remains aligned to strategic outcomes, benefits and delivery standards.

This role is critical to strengthening programme control across the Data agenda, which is focused on modernising WPP’s data infrastructure, improving integration and standardisation, strengthening data governance, and enabling trusted analytics and AI capabilities across the group.

What you'll be doing

  • Establish and maintain the integrated programme plan for the global Data programme, ensuring milestones, dependencies, decisions and delivery risks are clearly visible.
  • Run the PMO cadence across workstreams, including weekly status updates, action tracking, governance preparation, SteerCo reporting and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate RAID logs, dependency maps and decision records, ensuring risks and issues are escalated with clear owners, mitigations and due dates.
  • Support the Programme Director with executive reporting, turning complex delivery detail into clear, concise and action-oriented updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinate stage gates, assurance checkpoints and quality reviews in line with Strategy and Transformation delivery standards.
  • Track programme benefits, scope, budget inputs and resource requirements, working with Finance, delivery teams and PMOs to keep information current and defensible.
  • Support governance across multiple data workstreams, including data platforms, governance, integration, analytics enablement and AI readiness.
  • Create and maintain programme artefacts including plans, packs, templates, action logs, governance materials and management information.
  • Work with internal teams, vendors and delivery partners to ensure commitments, dependencies and actions are understood and followed through.
  • Champion consistent use of delivery tools and standards, including Transformation Delivery Framework, Wrike and agreed programme management templates.

What you'll need

  • Project, programme or portfolio management qualification desirable, such as PRINCE2, MSP, APM, PMI or equivalent practical experience.
  • Data, analytics, cloud or technology delivery awareness desirable, including familiarity with enterprise data platforms, governance, reporting or AI enablement.
  • Experience using PMO, planning and reporting tools such as Wrike, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong PMO experience supporting large-scale, complex technology or data transformation programmes in a global or multi-entity organisation.
  • Ability to build and maintain integrated plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, action logs and governance materials with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident producing high-quality executive reporting, with the ability to translate detailed delivery updates into clear messages, decisions and next steps.
  • Good understanding of programme governance, stage gates, assurance, delivery controls, financial tracking and benefits reporting.
  • Comfortable working across multiple workstreams, stakeholders, vendors and geographies, with the confidence to follow up, challenge constructively and drive closure.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to create structure in ambiguity and keep competing priorities moving without losing sight of detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear, concise and professional style suitable for senior audiences.
  • Collaborative, proactive and resilient, with the ability to build trusted relationships and support a positive delivery culture.
  • Data transformation awareness is desirable, including exposure to data governance, master data, analytics, reporting, integration or AI-related initiatives.
