About the role

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University seeks a gastroenterologist to join the Division as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the University Medical Line (UML). The Division has had a long track record of research in gastroenterology and hepatology. We are particularly interested in enhancing our scientific portfolio to carry the Division’s scientific mission. The scope of the investigative interest of the researcher is broad, with respect to organ specificity (or lack thereof), scientific discipline, or methodological expertise.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have an MD or MD/PhD degree and demonstrable record of scholarly achievement including the ability to conduct team science by collaborating productively with other investigators and clinicians in a sustainable fashion. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain a California medical license at the time of appointment, as well as board certification/board eligibility in gastroenterology. As a physician-scientist, the candidate is expected to have demonstrated excellence in patient care.

Applications will be reviewed beginning January 15, 2025 and accepted until position is filled.
