At Real Chemistry, we are always looking to connect with exceptional scientific talent across our medical communications teams. As our business continues to evolve, we regularly hire across multiple levels, from Medical Writers through to Medical Directors.

Our scientific teams sit at the center of translating complex medical information into accurate, compelling, and impactful communications across publications, medical affairs, promotional work, and scientific visualization.

We operate in a hybrid model, with offices in New York City, Boston, Lambertville, Chicago, San Francisco, and Carmel. We are also open to remote candidates.

For some roles, travel or close proximity to a client location may be required, which will be discussed throughout the interview process.

Important note on this opportunity

This is an evergreen opportunity designed to build our pipeline of scientific talent. While we greatly appreciate your interest, we will only be in touch if your experience aligns with current or anticipated needs. If we do reach out, you can expect:

  • An exploratory conversation with one of our recruiters to better understand your background and interests
  • If there is alignment, an introduction to relevant stakeholders or teams
  • If timing is not an immediate fit, we will thoughtfully retain your profile for future opportunities

What you’ll do

  • Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, compelling narratives
  • Contribute to or lead development of publications, medical education, and promotional materials
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across strategy, account, and creative
  • Ensure scientific rigor, accuracy, and compliance across deliverables
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, presenting work and guiding discussions
  • Contribute to strategic thinking, particularly at more senior levels

What you bring

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or similar) or equivalent expertise
  • Experience within a medical communications agency or similar environment
  • Strong scientific writing and storytelling capabilities
  • Therapy area expertise (oncology, rare disease, immunology, etc. preferred)
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

At Real Chemistry, we believe we're at our best when we're connected. Our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach is designed to foster collaboration, learning, innovation, and meaningful relationships while providing flexibility where appropriate. Because our workforce spans multiple countries, regions, and client needs, work arrangements may vary by role and location. Some positions offer hybrid or remote flexibility, while others require regular in-office presence. For example, certain teams and regions, including some of our UK operations, have office-based requirements. Your recruiter will discuss the specific expectations for the role you're pursuing during the interview process and keep you informed throughout the hiring journey. For employees located within a one-hour commute of a Real Chemistry office, we require in-person attendance two days per week, either from a Real Chemistry office or when working onsite with clients. Employees in regions without a nearby office may work remotely and come together throughout the year for collaboration, culture-building, learning, and team connection opportunities. While these guidelines reflect our current workplace model, we understand that everyone’s circumstances are unique. If you require additional flexibility, we welcome an open conversation with your recruiter and our HR team to discuss your needs and determine what may be possible.

Real Chemistry is an Equal Opportunity employer. We continually strive to build and sustain an inclusive and equitable work environment where our employees feel empowered to leverage all they bring from their personal lived experience and professional expertise, to make our team the best in the industry. We encourage motivated and qualified applicants to apply without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, ethnic or national origin, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local employment discrimination laws where Real Chemistry operates. Should you require accommodations throughout the interview process please let your recruiter know.
