Summary
Teaches fitness classes to university community providing a safe environment and quality workout
Essential Job Functions
- Instructs various fitness classes
- Collaborates with other instructors and administrators to create and develop class offerings, content, equipment needs and schedules that best meet the community's needs
- Verifies exercise space is ready and safe for use by checking for safety hazards including the floor, cooling systems and equipment needed
- Follows university protocol in case of injury or emergency
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Experience with group training, personal training or other related experience
- Current certification by a recognized organization (e.g. NSCA, ACSM, ISSA)
- First Aid and CPR certification or a willingness to obtain such certification upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 100 or 200 credential
