About the role

At Bradken, we are equipping the resource sector to sustainably advance society. We are currently seeking an experienced First Class Welder to join our Manufacturing team in a full-time, permanent position based in Bassendean.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on mining wear products and heavy industrial components, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to specification. Your expertise will play a critical role in delivering reliable solutions for customers across the global mining industry.

This role is ideal for a trade-qualified welder who takes pride in precision workmanship, delivering exceptional weld quality and working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will contribute to the safe and efficient manufacture and refurbishment of mining equipment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining Bradken's high standards for safety, quality and performance.

In this role, you will

  • Perform high-quality welding on mining wear products and components in accordance with engineering drawings, welding procedures and quality specifications.
  • Execute a variety of welding processes while maintaining exceptional workmanship and weld integrity standards.
  • Prepare, position and weld components to required tolerances and specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and customer requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols and fabrication instructions to accurately complete production tasks.
  • Carry out gouging, grinding and weld preparation activities to support efficient production outcomes.
  • Identify and report weld defects, quality concerns and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work closely with Supervisors, Leading Hands and team members to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by complying with all safety procedures and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Trade qualification as a First Class Welder, Welder, or equivalent fabrication trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience performing high-quality welding within a heavy manufacturing, mining, engineering or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, welding procedures and weld quality requirements.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols and technical specifications.
  • Experience working with carbon steel, wear-resistant materials and heavy fabricated components.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality welds and minimising rework.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven commitment to continuous improvement, reliability and professional workmanship.
  • Forklift, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights tickets will be highly regarded.

Why join Bradken?

We offer

  • Full-time permanent position with long-term career opportunities.
  • Income Protection Insurance.
  • Opportunity to transfer accrued sick/carer's leave to annual leave.
  • Ongoing training and development, including formal upskilling and qualification upgrade pathways.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale mining wear solutions used across the global resources sector.
  • Be part of a global organisation committed to safety, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities to further develop your welding expertise and technical skills.
