About the role

About the Role

The Financial Operations Analyst will own assigned brand remittances and help improve the data and processes that support them. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Operations, this role will be responsible for understanding how remittance data is generated, pulling and validating the data, preparing remittances, and reviewing the work for issues before it reaches the Manager. The role will also serve as the primary point of contact for assigned brands’ remittance questions and partner with Development and Engineering on data and automation projects.

  • The role is based in the United States, is fully remote, and supports an internationally distributed team.
  • Within approximately six months, the role is expected to perform assigned remittances end to end and actively contribute to automation projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Own assigned brand remittances end to end, from pulling and validating sales, payment, and applicable expense data through preparing the remittance package and completing a thorough self-review.
  • Reconcile sales activity to payment data, investigate variances, determine what follow-up is needed, and document the resolution before submitting the remittance for Manager review.
  • Serve as the primary Fin Ops contact for assigned brands, responding to remittance questions and coordinating internal follow-up when needed.
  • Work across teams to understand brand requirements and resolve anomalies or questions that affect remittance calculations or timing.
  • Lead assigned data and automation improvements by documenting current processes, defining reporting needs, partnering with Development and Engineering, and validating that changes work for remittance use.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to remittance processes, reporting, and controls.

What We’re Looking For

  • Four to six years of experience in financial operations, accounting, or a related analytical role, including ownership of recurring, deadline-driven processes.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using AI to analyze data, develop prototypes, identify automation opportunities, and improve recurring remittance workflows.
  • The ability to understand how data moves between source systems and reports and to identify missing, unexpected, or inconsistent information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience responding to external questions and coordinating across teams.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite and BI platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or similar tools is helpful.
  • Experience with payment reconciliations, remittance processes, or high-volume transaction data is preferred. Direct shipping or logistics experience is not required.
  • Experience using AI to analyze data, develop prototypes, or identify opportunities to automate recurring workflows is a required capability.
  • A curious, self-directed, and collaborative working style, with the judgment to work independently and the discipline to communicate anomalies, risks, and recommendations.

Success Milestones

  • 30 days: Learn the remittance workflows, assigned brands, source data, systems, and key partner teams.
  • 60 days: Prepare assigned remittance work with guidance, including pulling data, completing reconciliations, and documenting questions or discrepancies.
  • 90 days: Independently prepare standard remittances for assigned brands and complete a self-review before Manager review.
  • 6 months: Own assigned remittances end to end and drive an assigned automation project from process and data requirements through testing and validation.
  • 12 months: Independently manage complex remittance exceptions and deliver process or reporting improvements that address recurring issues or reduce manual work.
