About the role

Join our Finance Shared Services team and play a key role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, helping to keep our garage operations running smoothly. You'll be responsible for processing invoices, resolving supplier and payment queries, reconciling accounts, and building strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

This is a fast-paced role suited to someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and previous Accounts Payable experience. At Halfords, we operate a hybrid working policy with 2 days on site at our Support Centre in Redditch.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolving invoice, payment, and purchase order queries efficiently.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts, investigate discrepancies and historic balances, and support audit requirements where needed.
  • Support operational teams with invoice matching and reporting, helping to improve compliance and resolve issues across the garage network.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive best practice within the Finance Shared Services team.

About you

  • Previous experience in a Financial or Accounts Payable role – Advantageous, not essential
  • Strong time management skills with a “get up and go” attitude towards problem solving and working to deadlines
  • SAP knowledge is advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Mostly Excel, SharePoint & Teams)
  • Strong communication skill- especially with key stakeholders both in person and telephone

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.
