About the role

Who we are

ISS is a leading workplace experience and facility management company, providing placemaking solutions that contribute to better business performance and make life easier, more productive and enjoyable, delivered to high standards by people who care.

With a global presence spanning over 46 countries, ISS combines international expertise with local insights to create safe, efficient, and sustainable environments.

At ISS, our employees, whom we call "Placemakers" are at the heart of everything we do. Empowered by world-class resources and driven by purpose, they are united by a passion to make a real difference every day.

The Opportunity

ISS is on the lookout for experienced and adaptable Chefs to join our casual FIFO team, supporting our mining village operations across Central Queensland.

Flying from Brisbane Airport, this is a flexible, casual opportunity ideal for chefs seeking variety and work-life balance, without committing to a full-time roster.

You’ll be working across multiple village sites, stepping into fast-paced kitchens where your skills and reliability make an immediate impact. No two swings are the same perfect for those who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy keeping things fresh.

Working 10-12 hour days in demanding, remote environments means solid fitness and resilience are essential. If you’re driven, self-motivated, and ready for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
  • Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
  • Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
  • Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.

Lead with Impact: Live our HERO values by working with honesty, taking responsibility for kitchen standards, and supporting the team to deliver exceptional meals every day.

To be Considered

  • Proven professional work experience as qualified chef (minimum 2–3 years).
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia (or higher)
  • Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • Bulk cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environment (desirable)
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and WHS requirements.
  • Must pass a full Pre-Employment Medical Assessment and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
  • Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Certificate (highly desirable).
  • Valid National Police Clearance within the last 12 months.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

The Benefits

  • Earn from $35.15/hr casual base rate, with additional penalty rates for weekends, public holidays & overtime.
  • Casual opportunity ideal for chefs seeking variety
  • Meals, uniforms, access to onsite amenities - all included in your employment
  • Wellbeing support – mental, financial, and physical health programs available to all staff
  • A global team culture – work with a diverse, inclusive organisation that nurtures talent
  • Ongoing development – access to training and clear pathways for career growth
  • Reward and Recognition - access to discounts and vouchers to 100s of retailers across Australia
