About the role

This is an expression of interest to join our talent pipeline. While we don't have an immediate opening, we're always keen to connect with great talent for future opportunities.

Kogan.com is a pioneer of Australian eCommerce, and the software we build is used by millions of customers every day. You'll join a fast-moving team with real ownership, shipping to production daily and using AI as part of how we work.

We'd love to hear from talented Business Analysts and Product Owners who turn ideas into features that deliver real impact for millions of customers.

What you'll do

  • Break down business goals into smaller deliverables that engineers can iteratively push through to production.
  • Gain a good understanding of business domains and act as the SME and stakeholder proxy to the engineering team, influencing and managing the scope of engineering work in line with the business priorities.
  • Understand and document acceptance criteria agreed to by stakeholders and engineers.
  • Prioritise and maintain the backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of product releases - this includes collaborating with the engineering team, setting release goals and ensuring timely delivery of features.
  • Work well in a team environment to facilitate scope management, quality and timeliness as a requirement makes it way through the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Work across multiple projects and initiatives across all stages of the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive the focus on shipping to production as quickly as possible.
  • Understand, analyse and document estimated and actual business value delivered to provide insights into future improvement.
  • Accurately report on progress of tasks and projects, keeping in continual communication with project teams and management about project progress, issues and other relevant items.
  • Clearly communicate to stakeholders and developers on progress of both individual and team tasks.

What you'll need

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner with a solid understanding of all aspects of the agile software development cycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to run workshops, showcases and to communicate effectively with engineers and other stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experimental & super motivated to try something new and not be afraid to suggest it.
  • Developed analytical skills including ability to interpret business needs and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Ability to understand and document technical requirements.
  • Developed problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing stakeholder priorities and objectives
  • Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment.
