About the role

Your new opportunity

Bring your vision, influence and digital leadership to Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) and help shape how we serve Queensland. In this newly created role as the Executive Director, Business Innovation, you will lead the portfolio that connects digital and data planning, business innovation, information security and automation.

You will work across QRO and Queensland Treasury, and with government and interstate partners, to translate emerging possibilities into trusted, systemic organisational capabilities. Your leadership will build future organisational capability and shape the way QRO provides digital services for clients and our workforce.

In this role, you will

  • Set strategy and direction: lead the Digital and Data Business Innovation Division and develop QRO's innovation portfolio, digital plans, automation capability and enterprise architecture.
  • Guide investment and change: provide strategic direction and specialist advice for major projects, organisational change and emerging digital and data opportunities.
  • Turn innovation into value: identify, test and demonstrate emerging technologies that support innovative approaches to delivering QRO services.
  • Influence across boundaries: build trusted relationships with QRO executives and government stakeholders, lead high-level negotiations and represent QRO in Queensland Government and interjurisdictional forums.
  • Advise senior leaders: support the QRO Senior Executive Team with clear, forward-looking advice on digital and data capabilities, risks and opportunities.

What experience you will bring

Digital strategy and architecture: a record of success leading digital and data plans, roadmaps and enterprise architecture in complex organisations.

Technology expertise: high-level expertise in digital and data technologies, emerging technologies and contemporary digital service models.

Innovation leadership: a proven track record leading innovation functions across complex organisations and converting ideas into practical outcomes.

Information security: substantial experience applying information security standards within complex organisational environments.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
