About the role

True Zero Technologies, a veteran-owned small business, was founded on the principle that the purposeful enablement of people and technology in an organization directly ties to the quality of its outcomes. True Zero recognizes that those outcomes begin and end with our people, and that is what we have built a community of like-minded, driven, and passionate individuals and innovators who are aligned in a common goal of delivering top-tier services to our customers. Our culture and commitment have been recognized through numerous accolades, including being named one of the Best Places to Work in 2023 in two categories (“Prosperous and Thriving” ($5MM–$50MM in gross revenue) and “Mid-Atlantic Region” (DC, DE, MD, NC, VA, WV)), and again in 2025 as a Best Places to Work honoree. In addition, True Zero earned coveted spots on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in America in 2022, 2023, and 2025, a testament to our sustained growth driven by our people-first approach and unwavering dedication to excellence.

True Zero is seeking an experienced Enterprise Asset Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide IT asset management programs across complex on-premises and cloud environments. This role will oversee asset discovery, inventory management, classification, lifecycle optimization, and cybersecurity integration to ensure accurate asset visibility and effective risk management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in enterprise asset management platforms, and experience supporting cybersecurity operations and federal compliance requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise asset management programs, ensuring comprehensive visibility across hardware, software, network, endpoint, and cloud assets.
  • Oversee asset discovery, inventory reconciliation, classification, prioritization, and lifecycle management to maintain accurate and reliable enterprise asset records.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate asset intelligence into vulnerability management, configuration management, risk assessments, incident response, and security operations.
  • Manage and optimize IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) processes and platforms.
  • Establish and enforce asset management policies, governance procedures, secure configuration standards, and compliance practices aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and FISMA requirements.
  • Oversee software licensing, compliance monitoring, asset utilization, and optimization initiatives to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain asset management dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting metrics to identify trends, inventory discrepancies, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support regulatory audits, compliance assessments, and integration of asset management data into enterprise cybersecurity and risk management frameworks, including NIST RMF and NIST CSF.

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiatives within large, complex IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, administering, and optimizing enterprise asset management and CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Ivanti, or BMC.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, network, endpoint, and cloud asset discovery, inventory reconciliation, classification, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience with software licensing models, license compliance, vendor management, asset utilization analysis, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity practices and regulatory frameworks, including NIST RMF, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, and FISMA, with experience supporting vulnerability management and security compliance.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, along with familiarity with scripting, automation, and asset data integration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, establish governance processes, and drive enterprise-wide improvements.
  • Active Secret security clearance required, along with at least one relevant professional certification, such as CITAM, CSAM, ITIL, CISSP, or CISM.
