About the role

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

ELECTRICIAN, OPERATIONS

As an Operations Electrician, you will keep in-service substations, distribution, and campus power facilities running. This is an operating-plant job: inspect, maintain, switch, and restore equipment so load stays up. You will work with energized medium- and high-voltage systems under established safety standards, perform switching and operations up to 161 kV, and respond to faults and call-outs. This position is based in Memphis, TN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair in-service substation and campus electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, relays, buswork, control systems, and station batteries
  • Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV: write or follow switching orders, isolate and de-energize equipment, apply grounds, verify zero energy, and restore equipment to service
  • Own routine maintenance on medium- and high-voltage operating systems: inspections, lubrication, oil levels, heaters, lights, and connections
  • Respond to outages, faults, alarms, and call-outs; restore service and document what happened
  • Conduct electrical testing on in-service equipment (voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation megger) and assist with relay, transformer, and circuit breaker tests
