About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative eFX Trader to join our electronic FX trading desk. In this role, you will bring a sharp commercial focus to monitoring Global Markets execution, overseeing automated pricing, and managing the end-to-end electronic client experience. Sitting at the intersection of trading, technology, and sales, you will play a key role in analyzing flow dynamics, optimizing liquidity across prevailing electronic platforms, and providing seamless desk coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution & Desk Coverage: Monitor automated pricing engines and execution across OTC and currency futures, providing critical desk coverage and position management support when required.
  • Client Onboarding & Flow Setup: Oversee the onboarding of clients onto electronic platforms, coordinating with Sales and IT to ensure smooth go-live integration.
  • Flow & Pattern Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze client trading patterns, flow toxicity, and execution hit ratios to optimize pricing tiers and maximize franchise profitability.
  • Liquidity & LP Management: Evaluate Liquidity Provider performance, market impact, and reject rates to optimize the desk's external sourcing and internal risk management.
  • Platform & API Monitoring: Actively manage and configure prevailing electronic trading platforms (ECNs, multi-dealer platforms, direct APIs) to ensure continuous, high-quality liquidity stream delivery.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the first line of defense for electronic trading issues, swiftly resolving pricing discrepancies, rejected trades, or connectivity disruptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal technology, quantitative, and risk-taking teams to test system upgrades, refine pricing parameters, and drive platform enhancements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 2 years or above experience on an FX trading desk, with a proven track record in electronic FX market-making or liquidity management.
  • Product Knowledge: Robust, thorough understanding of FX market mechanics, liquidity structures, and trading conventions across both OTC and currency futures.
  • Education: University graduate. A degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or Mathematics is a strong plus.
  • Platform Proficiency: Strong practical experience working with prevailing electronic trading platforms, aggregators, and ECNs.

Core Competencies

  • Effective Communication: Clear and concise communication skills to articulate technical trading issues or data trends to sales desks, clients, and IT.
  • Team Collaboration: A strong team player who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative trading floor environment.
