About the role

eCommerce Manager

Ko wai mātou – About us

Kia ora. We’re Foodies. You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us! With 300+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika‑a‑Māui, our North Island Co‑op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life. Locally owned, we reflect the communities we serve, and we celebrate our people – our taonga – every day for being uniquely them.

Our eCommerce team plays a critical role in shaping the future of online shopping for Kiwi households. From digital merchandising to personalised customer experiences, we’re focused on delivering an intuitive, relevant and high‑performing online journey that makes shopping easy.

Te Tūranga – About the role

As our eCommerce Manager, you’ll take ownership of key projects that improve our online customer experience and operational performance. You’ll work across initiatives such as Quick Commerce, Click & Collect and Standard Delivery, with your project portfolio evolving in line with business priorities.

In this role, you’ll

  • Lead multiple projects from business case and planning through to implementation and benefits realisation, bringing structure, momentum and strong follow-through.
  • Drive change from idea through to delivery, developing project plans and roadmaps and bringing together the technology, resources and investment required for successful outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships across retail, customer insights, operations and other stakeholders, creating buy-in and alignment on opportunities and priorities.
  • Work confidently with large datasets and reporting, spotting trends and patterns and translating these into meaningful business insights and opportunities.
  • Navigate competing priorities across a complex Co-op environment, using strong communication and influencing skills to keep stakeholders aligned and projects moving.

Ngā painga – What we offer

We’re committed to providing awesome experiences for our people, including a range of benefits such as:

  • Free carparking – over 1,000 carparks including free EV charging
  • Onsite café with subsidised meals, mini‑mart, and 5% discount at our retail stores
  • Southern cross health insurance
  • Flexible working options, a day off on your birthday
  • In‑house learning and development programmes, flu vaccinations, and social network groups (we call them Tribes)

He kōrero mōu – About you

You’re an experienced Project or Programme Manager who knows how to turn an idea into a delivered outcome. You’ll be proactive and comfortable working with ambiguity, able to influence a wide range of stakeholders and use data to bring clarity to decisions.

Ideally, you’ll bring

  • Strong project management experience, including managing multiple initiatives and delivering sizeable projects from initiation through to implementation.
  • Experience in change management, stakeholder engagement and influencing across functions and at senior levels, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets, identify trends and patterns, and translate information into useful business insights.
  • Experience gained in eCommerce, retail, IT or consultancy environments. eCommerce and store operations knowledge would be a real advantage.
  • Relevant project management qualifications such as PMI or PRINCE2 would be preferred but aren’t essential.

Experience awesome. Achieve awesome. Be awesomely you.

We’re proud to have a focus on Diversity & Inclusion here at Foodies and welcome courageous behaviour, encourage togetherness, inspire our people to be their best selves in our Foodies whānau.
