About the role

About Us

Halfords Group plc has transformed from a £1.1bn cycling retailer into a £1.7bn motoring and cycling-led business. In FY25, services accounted for over half of the Group's revenue, and B2B now contributes nearly a third.

Commercial Fleet Services (CFS) sits at the heart of this growth, delivering nationwide tyre, servicing and maintenance solutions through a large network of depots and mobile service vans across the UK. Supported by a vast network of garages, retail outlets and mobile vans, Halfords delivers an integrated product and services ecosystem dedicated to ensuring a lifetime of motoring and cycling across the UK.

About The Role

  • A senior operational leadership role responsible for leading and growing the CFS division across a defined depot network in the South of England.
  • Accountable for delivering safe, efficient, and commercially successful mobile service solutions to a large portfolio of commercial fleet customers and vehicles under contract.
  • Leads a team of 5 Regional Managers and c.300 colleagues across 40+ depots, with full divisional P&L accountability.
  • Own significant revenue accountability within a £180m organisation, with payroll and non-payroll budget accountability.
  • Reports to the Service Delivery Director, CFS, and joins the business at a genuinely exciting point- CFS is twice the size of its nearest competitor, with a clear plan to expand geographic coverage and service proposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the CFS divisional strategy, driving profitable growth, operational efficiency and service excellence across depot and mobile operations.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire Regional Managers, building strong leadership capability, succession pipelines, and a high-performance culture.
  • Own full divisional P&L accountability, delivering sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost control.
  • Drive operational excellence across depot and mobile technician teams, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and reliable service delivery.
  • Embed best-in-class health & safety practices, particularly within field-based operations, ensuring full compliance and a proactive safety culture.
  • Maintain tight control of costs across labour, fleet operations, stock, and overheads, ensuring robust stock governance and minimisation of loss and working capital exposure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial fleet customers, partnering with commercial colleagues on onboarding, account growth and manufacturer-led service reviews.
  • Simplify and standardise operational processes to improve efficiency, scalability and service quality as the business grows.

About You

  • Extensive leadership experience across large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • A strong track record of P&L ownership, budget management and financial planning.
  • Genuine ability to lead, engage and motivate teams through a fast-changing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of industry trends and market conditions, with the ability to adapt and flex accordingly.
  • A hands-on, commercially minded operator who is equally comfortable in a depot as in a senior leadership meeting.

Reward and Benefits

  • A competitive salary, benchmarked against market data, alongside car allowance and annual bonus.
  • Pension, life assurance and 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Ongoing personal and professional development, with support to grow your career within Halfords.
  • Hybrid working, with a mix of field, office and home-based work.
  • Access to a wide range of colleague discounts across Halfords products and services.
  • A strong focus on wellbeing and inclusion, with support and resources to help you thrive at work.
