About Teton.ai

Teton is building the predictive intelligence layer for senior care. Our AI and computer vision platform passively and privately understands what is happening across residents, staff and space, then turns it into actionable insight for frontline caregivers, operators and owners.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2020 and backed by a $20M Series A led by Plural, Teton is used every month by more than 10,000 care staff across the US and Europe. Operators running Teton report 50–70% fewer falls and a 20% reduction in temporary and night staffing. We are now scaling across US skilled nursing and senior living portfolios.

The role

The Director of Skilled Nursing Regulatory & Compliance is Teton's senior authority on federal and state SNF regulation. You will translate regional and national knowledge of SNF compliance across all 50 states into Teton's product, so our platform helps operators meet the Requirements of Participation, perform well on surveys and protect residents.

You will work across product, clinical, legal and customer teams. Your guidance shapes what we build, how our insights are positioned, and how SNF operators use Teton to stay survey-ready every day.

What you'll do

Translate regulation into product

  • Serve as Teton's subject-matter expert on 42 CFR Part 483 (Requirements of Participation), the State Operations Manual Appendix PP, F-tags and the long-term care survey process.
  • Build and maintain a state-by-state view of SNF licensure rules, staffing requirements, incident reporting, resident rights, privacy and monitoring regulations, and state survey practices.
  • Map what Teton's platform observes (falls, supervision, rounding, call response, behaviors, staffing patterns) to the regulations and F-tags it supports, such as accidents and supervision, quality of care, and sufficient staffing.
  • Define compliance requirements with product, data science and engineering; review features and validate that outputs support, and never undermine, regulatory obligations.
  • Track CMS rule changes, survey guidance updates, minimum staffing developments, and state legislative and regulatory changes, and turn them into roadmap input.

Protect Teton and our clients

  • Advise on how in-room sensing and AI must be deployed in each state, including resident consent, privacy, electronic monitoring laws and HIPAA.
  • Partner with legal and security on policies, documentation and contract language tied to SNF regulation.
  • Make sure Teton's documentation and insights hold up to surveyor, state agency and auditor scrutiny.

Drive client outcomes

  • Help SNF operators' compliance officers, administrators, DONs and regional leaders use Teton to stay survey-ready and support Plans of Correction.
  • Quantify impact on survey results, deficiency citations, incident reporting, quality measures and Five-Star health inspection ratings.
  • Represent Teton at industry events and with clients, asset owners, regulators and partners as a credible compliance voice.

Build internal capability

  • Train Teton's commercial, customer success and product teams on SNF regulation and survey fundamentals.
  • Create state compliance playbooks and a repeatable process for launching Teton in new states.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of direct involvement in compliance and regulatory oversight for skilled nursing facilities, ideally at the regional or national level for a multi-state operator.
  • Expert, current knowledge of 42 CFR Part 483, SOM Appendix PP, F-tags, the LTC survey process and enforcement remedies.
  • Working knowledge of state SNF licensure and regulatory requirements across multiple states, and how state survey agencies differ in practice.
  • Track record of leading survey readiness, Plans of Correction, mock surveys and compliance programs across a portfolio of facilities.
  • Familiarity with incident and abuse reporting, resident rights, HIPAA and OIG compliance program guidance for nursing facilities.
  • Clear communicator who can explain complex regulations to clinicians, engineers and executives alike.

Nice to have

  • Active RN license, or a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license.
  • Compliance certification such as CHC, CHC-LTC or CHPC.
  • Former state surveyor or CMS experience.
  • Experience translating regulatory knowledge into technology: working with product or engineering teams, defining requirements, or reviewing software or AI features.
  • Client-facing experience in a consulting, health tech or software vendor role serving SNF operators.
  • Knowledge of electronic monitoring, camera and privacy laws in long-term care settings.

Why Teton

  • Define how AI supports regulatory compliance in skilled nursing, as the first senior leader in this function.
  • Direct influence on product strategy at a fast-growing, venture-backed company.
  • A mission that matters: safer residents, less burden for caregivers, more predictable operations for operators.
  • Competitive salary, equity and benefits.
