About the role

Career Opportunity – Director of Development and Donor Experience with Found Village in Greater Cincinnati, OH

Are you a strategic, relationship-driven development leader energized by both mission and infrastructure? Are you ready to build the systems, strategy, team, and donor experience that help a growing organization scale with clarity and long-term sustainability? If so, we want to speak with you!

The Director of Development & Donor Experience will oversee the team, processes, and systems that power fundraising at Found Village. Partnering closely with the Co-Executive Director, who sets overall revenue strategy and holds the organization’s top-level fundraising relationships, the Director will build the operational backbone that brings that strategy to life. This position centers on operations and team leadership, not on managing a personal donor portfolio.

Salary range: $90k - $110k; depending on knowledge and experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay and 401(k) match.
  • Medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and other health-related benefit options.
  • Generous PTO, sick leave, holidays, and built-in self-care days.
  • Professional development funds and discounted YMCA membership.

Responsibilities

  • Turn the Co-Executive Director’s revenue strategy into clear development plans and coordinated action, building multi-year support through major gifts, mid-level donors, and recurring giving in alignment with Found Village’s priorities.
  • Own and strengthen the development operating system, including CRM practices, database-entry processes, prospect strategies, campaign tracking, development reporting, and fundraising forecasts to inform decisions.
  • Define donor segments and engagement pathways, creating consistent donor experience through stewardship frameworks, engagement cadence, and related events.
  • Facilitate weekly revenue and prospect movement meetings, monitoring conversion, pipeline health, donor retention, and progress toward funding goals.
  • Supervise Development Operations staff, develop people, set clear expectations, and lead execution and accountability; help hire and scale the development team as organizational needs evolve.
  • Partners with executive leadership on top-tier donor strategy and with marketing on donor communications, and support donor-facing, volunteer, and community interactions built on relational trust.
  • Gradually assume responsibility for grants and broader development leadership as the organization grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and relevant experience preferred.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible development or fundraising experience, including nonprofit work and leadership experience building or strengthening a development function; required.
  • Experience supporting capital campaigns or major fundraising initiatives.
  • Proven success in development operations and pipeline management, with systems thinking.
  • Strong leadership and operational skills, balancing strategy with firsthand execution.
  • Relationship-building and proactive communication skills, including seeking clarity, respectfully challenging ideas, and exercising sound judgment in donor-facing situations.
  • An organized, consistent, conscientious, and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to partner with a fast-moving, visionary leader and adapt to evolving roles and systems in a growing organization.
  • A mission-driven approach, personal connection to Found Village’s purpose, and thoughtful, clearly articulated career goals.
