About the role

About PHIL

Getting a prescription filled shouldn’t be the hardest part of starting treatment. Yet for many patients, it is. PHIL is a Series D health-tech company building the platform that connects patients, prescribers, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturers so patients can get their medication quickly and affordably.

Our digital hub and pharmacy platform handles everything from enrollment and benefits verification to prior authorization, copay support, and home delivery. For manufacturers, that means more patients start therapy and stay on it, plus the commercial insight to keep improving access.

We’re a diverse team of people from a wide range of backgrounds, united by a focus on the patient experience.

The role

We’re hiring a Director of Client Success to own the relationship with a small portfolio of our largest pharmaceutical manufacturer clients. This is a strategic relationship-ownership role, not a message-passing or project-management role. Our programs move fast, and the person in this seat is the client’s first call when something stalls.

You’ll report to the SVP, Client Success and work closely with Strategy & Analytics, Product, Operations, and Client Strategy. You lead the relationship and bring those teams in as experts, and you hold the bar for what PHIL delivers.

What you’ll own

  • Your client portfolio: Be accountable for the health, renewal, and growth of each account, and serve as the primary executive point of contact.
  • Multi-level relationships: Build relationships across market access, commercial, and patient services, from day-to-day program teams to VP and SVP leaders.
  • Quarterbacking delivery: Coordinate PHIL’s internal teams around each client’s priorities, track every open item, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • The value story: Lead business reviews and key client conversations, translating program results into the value each brand cares about.
  • Anticipating issues: Spot client needs and risks early, so clients never raise a problem PHIL didn’t already know about.
  • Growth: Work with Client Strategy on program improvements and bring new opportunities within client portfolios to Business Development.

What success looks like in your first year

  • By 90 days: You’ve met every key stakeholder at your accounts, learned how PHIL’s programs work end to end, and built an account plan for each client.
  • By 6 months: You’ve led a business review for each account, and clients are coming to you first with issues and priorities.
  • By 12 months: Your accounts are renewing and growing, each has an executive sponsor at VP level or above, and you’ve surfaced at least one new-brand opportunity to Business Development.

What you’ll bring

Our strongest candidates have owned a few large, high-value client relationships at a fast-moving company, and they take real ownership of outcomes. Pharma experience helps, but it isn’t required.

  • Experience owning B2B enterprise client relationships, with accountability for retention and growth
  • Experience at a startup or growth-stage company
  • Executive presence, with a track record of building trust with senior client leaders
  • A strong sense of urgency: you respond fast, follow through, and get ahead of problems instead of reacting to them
  • Experience working across teams to get things done without direct authority
  • Ability to travel regularly for in-person client visits and to take Eastern Time meetings

Nice to have

  • Pharma, specialty pharmacy, or patient-services experience
  • Experience using AI tools in your work
