About the role

Step into a career with ASM, where cutting edge technology meets collaborative culture.

For over 55 years ASM has been ahead of what’s next, at the forefront of innovation and what’s technologically possible. With more than 4,500 ASMers representing 70 nationalities, our people and our advanced semiconductor devices are playing a crucial role in trends such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving. But we’re more than just a tech company. We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world. Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

As Director, Account Technology, you will stand at the intersection of breakthrough technology, strategic customer partnerships, and some of the most important innovations happening in semiconductors today.

This is a rare opportunity to lead ASM's technology engagement with one of the world's most influential semiconductor manufacturers and help shape the future of next-generation memory architectures that will power artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and the data-driven world of tomorrow.

Over the next decade, the semiconductor industry will make some of its largest-ever investments in advanced memory technologies. The winners will help unlock new levels of AI performance, computing power, and technological progress. As a key technology leader for ASM, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we are at the forefront of that transformation.

You will translate complex customer technology challenges into strategic opportunities, influence the direction of ASM's products and roadmaps, and lead the programs that determine where the industry goes next. Success in this role will have a direct impact on technology adoption, customer investment decisions, product evolution, and long-term business growth. Quite simply, the work you do here will help shape technologies that impact millions of people worldwide.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the center of three critical missions:

Shape the Customer Technology Strategy

Become the trusted technical advisor to senior customer technology leaders.

Develop a deep understanding of customer challenges, technology roadmaps, integration requirements, manufacturing constraints, and future device architectures. Translate those insights into actions that influence ASM's long-term strategy and technology investments.

You will become the bridge between what the customer needs next and what ASM builds next.

Influence Product and Technology Innovation

The best Account Technology leaders don't simply respond to customer requests. They influence the future.

You will work directly with Product Development, Engineering, Product Marketing, Service, and Business Unit leaders to identify technology gaps, hardware opportunities, process improvements, and future innovation priorities.

Your insights will help shape the next generation of deposition technologies and ensure ASM remains the partner of choice for future technology nodes.

Build and Lead a World-Class Technical Team

You'll build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technical leaders capable of operating as a true extension of the customer's technology organization.

You'll create an environment where technical excellence, customer obsession, innovation, and collaboration drive exceptional results.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technology engagement strategy for a key strategic customer across advanced memory technologies, DRAM, NAND, and emerging applications.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior customer technology executives and key decision makers.
  • Understand customer technology challenges, process integration requirements, device roadmaps, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable priorities for ASM's Product Development, Service, Engineering, and Business Unit organizations.
  • Drive hardware, process, and technology improvements that strengthen ASM's competitive position and accelerate customer adoption.
  • Define and lead complex NPI programs from concept through qualification and volume production.
  • Ensure customer feedback directly influences future product and roadmap decisions.
  • Protect and expand existing technology positions while identifying new opportunities for growth.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical organization.
  • Create alignment across Product Marketing, Product Development, Service Engineering, Operations, and executive leadership teams.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone capable of becoming one of the industry's next great technical leaders. You may come from a leading equipment supplier, memory manufacturer, or semiconductor technology organization. What matters most is your ability to connect technology, customer strategy, product innovation, and leadership.

You likely bring:

  • 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • Leadership experience managing technical teams and developing talent.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor process integration and device interactions.
  • Experience in deposition, thin films, ALD, PECVD, LPCVD, PEALD, or adjacent process technologies.
  • The ability to understand both technology and business drivers.
  • A track record of influencing decisions across complex organizations.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for solving difficult technical problems and turning them into competitive advantage.

Why this role at ASM?

Few companies can influence where the semiconductor industry goes next.

At ASM, you'll work with world-class engineers, industry-leading technology, and customers investing billions in the future of AI, advanced computing, and next-generation memory. This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to help shape the technologies that will define the next decade.

Most technical leaders influence a product. This role influences an entire technology ecosystem. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of customer strategy, technology innovation, and product development, helping determine how next-generation memory technologies are developed, qualified, and brought into high-volume manufacturing.

Success in this role will directly impact future product roadmaps, major technology decisions, and some of the industry's most significant R&D investments. You will help shape ASM's strategy, build high-performing teams, and influence technologies that power the future of artificial intelligence.

For the right person, this is a career-defining opportunity. You won't simply help win business. You'll help define what comes next.

Apply today to be part of what’s next.

We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world. We do this with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through cutting-edge innovation, and driving the next wave of technological breakthroughs that shape how we live, work, and connect.
