About TEGNA

TEGNA Inc. helps people thrive in their local communities by providing the trusted local news and services that matter most. With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches more than 100 million people monthly across the web, mobile apps, streaming, and linear television. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

WUSA9, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Digital Strategist to be the go-to expert behind our digital and streaming (CTV/OTT) business. You’ll partner with Account Executives, Account Managers, and sales leaders to build smart digital solutions and make sure campaigns launch and run flawlessly. You’ll also turn campaign data into clear stories that grow revenue and strengthen client relationships. This client-facing role is for someone who sweats the details, spots opportunities before anyone asks, and is always looking to raise the bar.

Responsibilities

  • Own campaign accuracy from proposal through launch and wrap, working with Account Managers and fulfillment teams on setup, execution, and optimization.
  • Monitor campaign performance closely, flag issues early, and recommend optimizations before clients ask.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on client performance calls, proposals, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Turn complex campaign data into simple, clear stories that clients and sellers can act on.
  • Use campaign and category insights to find revenue opportunities for sellers, such as upsells, gaps in current campaigns, and new prospects.
  • Build case studies and attribution reports that show results and help sellers win new business.
  • Partner with Account Executives on custom campaigns across digital, streaming, and broadcast.
  • Build strong client relationships by learning each client’s business, goals, and competitive landscape.
  • Train and support sellers on digital products, data, and best practices.
  • Find smarter ways to work, including using AI and automation to improve speed and accuracy.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience (preferred) in digital media, campaign management, ad operations, or digital sales support.
  • Strong knowledge of CTV/OTT, targeted display, and campaign measurement and attribution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines without letting anything slip.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, and comfortable making decisions and owning outcomes.
  • An analytical mindset, with the ability to simplify data and tell a clear story.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with clients, sellers, and internal partners.
  • Sales-minded, with a drive to grow client relationships and revenue.
  • Curious and eager to learn. Experience with AI tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, plus experience with ad-serving platforms and CRM software such as Salesforce.
  • Google Ads and IAB certifications are a plus.

Pay Range

$80,000—$100,000 USD
