About the role

About Us

Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.

We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.

Role Overview

We're looking for a highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join our Home Product Development team. This role is essential to supporting our designers, streamlining design operations, and helping implement the technology-driven processes that are transforming how Homebound designs and delivers homes.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, learns quickly, and independently executes on responsibilities with minimal oversight. We're looking for someone who can learn a process, take ownership of it, and consistently deliver high-quality work without requiring ongoing direction. This individual should actively anticipate the needs of the design team, identify opportunities to improve workflows, and take pride in making the designers around them more efficient.

A significant component of this role will involve technology integration and implementation, particularly within Homebound's proprietary Blueprint platform. We're actively transitioning our design workflows, product catalogs, specifications, and documentation into this innovative system. The right candidate will be excited to work at the intersection of interior design, technology, and operations, helping establish and refine new processes as our platform evolves.

This is a collaborative, cross-functional role working closely with Design, Architecture, Technology, Procurement, Sales, Construction Operations, and external partners. Some travel may be required.

What You'll Do

Design Team Support & Independent Execution

  • Proactively support designers by taking ownership of assigned tasks and executing them independently, accurately, and on time.
  • Anticipate team needs, identify outstanding action items, and follow through without requiring repeated reminders or direction.
  • Coordinate sample ordering, vendor communication, material sourcing, inventory management, and design studio displays.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital design resources, ensuring materials and information are readily accessible to the team.
  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities while proactively communicating progress, identifying roadblocks, and driving tasks through completion.

Technology Integration & Blueprint Platform Implementation

  • Play an active role in integrating design workflows, specifications, finish schedules, and product information into Homebound's proprietary Blueprint platform.
  • Support the creation, organization, maintenance, and quality control of digital product catalogs and design package documentation.
  • Work closely with Design and Technology teams to implement new platform capabilities, test workflows, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assist in transitioning existing design documentation and manual processes into standardized, technology-enabled workflows.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Blueprint and become a reliable resource for designers as new tools and processes are introduced.
  • Embrace evolving technology and processes with enthusiasm, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Technical Design & Documentation Support

  • Assist with reviewing and redlining interior drawings, including cabinet shop drawings, interior elevations, countertop drawings, and flooring diagrams.
  • Support rendering reviews by identifying discrepancies, coordinating redlines, and communicating design feedback to visualization partners.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate finish schedules, design specifications, material selections, and related project documentation.
  • Create mood boards, inspirational imagery, and presentation materials aligned with established design direction.
  • Coordinate with designers, vendors, and trade partners to ensure design intent and documentation remain accurate and consistent.

Design Studio & Operational Coordination

  • Support the setup, organization, and ongoing maintenance of Design Studios and physical material displays across markets.
  • Coordinate material samples and displays to reflect current product offerings and design packages.
  • Help establish scalable systems for sample management, documentation, and design operations.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements that reduce administrative burden on designers.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables, deadlines, and performance expectations.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in design coordination, interior design support, project coordination, design operations, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset—you don't wait to be told what needs to happen next.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, and systems and apply that knowledge independently.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for technology, process improvement, and working within evolving digital platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to proactively share updates, ask thoughtful questions, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where workflows and priorities may change.
  • A collaborative, team-first attitude with a genuine desire to make the people around you more effective.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background or demonstrated interest in residential interior design, architecture, or homebuilding.
  • Familiarity with construction documents, interior elevations, cabinet shop drawings, or technical drawing reviews.
  • Experience with Bluebeam or similar drawing review and markup software.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or similar design presentation tools.
  • Experience working with digital product catalogs, design management systems, or technology-driven operational workflows.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of new software, systems, or standardized processes.
  • Familiarity with material sourcing, vendor coordination, and physical sample management.
