About the role

Why Faculty?

We established Faculty in 2014 because we thought that AI would be the most important technology of our time. Since then, we’ve worked with over 350 global customers to transform their performance through human-centric AI. You can read about our real-world impact here.

We don’t chase hype cycles. We innovate, build and deploy responsible AI which moves the needle - and we know a thing or two about doing it well. We bring an unparalleled depth of technical, product and delivery expertise to our clients who span government, finance, retail, energy, life sciences and defence.

Our business, and reputation, is growing fast and we’re always on the lookout for individuals who share our intellectual curiosity and desire to build a positive legacy through technology.

AI is an epoch-defining technology, join a company where you’ll be empowered to envision its most powerful applications, and to make them happen.

About the team

Our Telecommunications, Media and Technology team, part of our wider Retail and Consumer unit, is dedicated to guiding our clients on a path to growth in market sectors that have disproportionately been impacted by AI in recent years.

Combatting customer ARPU erosion, safeguarding media from commoditisation, ensuring customer-facing AI capabilities are impactful and safe for use. The challenges are vast. AI is now not just a means for optimisation, but a core competitive differentiator in an increasingly competitive landscape.

About the role

As a Customer Director, you’ll play an influential role in growing our most impactful accounts and shape our go-to-market strategy in order to achieve our ambitious growth targets.

You will act as a strategic partner to our Telecommunications, Media and Technology clients, helping them reinvent their operations and end-user engagement through AI-powered decision-making.You will build enduring relationships with senior stakeholders, drive commercial strategy, and oversee multidisciplinary delivery teams to ensure cutting-edge AI deployments are secure, reliable, and grounded in real-world impact.

This is an opportunity to help build a distinctive practice inside a company with world-class technical depth and the ambition to set the standard for AI in the TMT sector.

The ideal candidate will be T-shaped: broad enough to advise across AI for a range of TMT firms, with deep experience in at least one sector. We are particularly interested in candidates who have delivered AI in the Telecommunication sector.

What you'll be doing

  • Driving revenue growth; identifying strategic opportunities to expand current accounts and identifying new clients within the TMT sector
  • Leading complex AI transformation programmes for major TMT clients, moving from strategic thinking to production-grade software delivery
  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with C-suite leaders and partners, acting as a strategic advisor on how AI can automate knowledge work and drive operational efficiency
  • Generating high-value growth for Faculty by shaping compelling commercial pitches and demos that showcase our technical depth and ability to solve sector-specific challenges
  • Elevating Faculty’s industry profile by articulating differentiated propositions and points of view through thought leadership, media engagement, and industry forums
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality client work by guiding multidisciplinary teams and helping them navigate the ambiguity and pace of the sector
  • Managing a practice within a practice - leading cross-functional teams of delivery experts, PhD-calibre engineers and data scientists to further consolidate Faculty’s reputation for pioneering technical and delivery excellence.

Who we're looking for

  • You’ve managed C-level, complex stakeholder relationships in the TMT industry, with a proven track record of building trusted, long-term relationships and navigating strategic commercial conversations with confidence
  • You’re commercially driven - energised by hitting growth targets with a proven track record of shaping opportunities, winning work, and owning meaningful revenue responsibility
  • You are delivery-focused and technically credible, with a track record of translating complex AI concepts with clarity to technical and non-technical audiences
  • You are comfortable working alongside deeply technical teams and possess the curiosity to master and discuss artificial intelligence applications.
  • You exhibit a leadership mindset that balances executive-level strategy with a hands-on approach to unblocking teams, challenging work constructively, and maintaining high quality
  • Some experience in consulting preferred

The Interview Process

  1. Talent Team Screen (30 minutes)
  2. Introduction to the team (60 minutes)
  3. Discovery Role Play Interview (60 minutes)
  4. Commercial Leadership Interview (60 minutes)

Our Recruitment Ethos

We aim to grow the best team - not the most similar one. We know that diversity of individuals fosters diversity of thought, and that strengthens our principle of seeking truth. And we know from experience that diverse teams deliver better work, relevant to the world in which we live. We’re united by a deep intellectual curiosity and desire to use our abilities for measurable positive impact. We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, religions and sexual orientations.

If you don’t feel you meet all the requirements, but are excited by the role and know you bring some key strengths, please don't hesitate in applying as you might be right for this role, or other roles. We are open to conversations about part-time hours.

A note on AI: we're happy for you to use it for research and interview prep, but please don't use it to generate answers during live interviews. We also use an AI note-taker (Metaview) in interviews so interviewers can stay present (which you can opt out of just let us know,) and every application is reviewed by a human, never decided by AI.
