Role Overview

Coupang Pay provides seamless and reliable payment experiences across Coupang’s commerce ecosystem. Our Data Analytics team partners closely with Product, Business, Data Science, and Engineering to build trusted data foundations, understand business performance, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven product decisions.

We are looking for a Data Analyst who combines strong technical analytics capabilities with strong business judgment. This role goes beyond reporting and building data mart as needed - the analyst is expected to independently identify business problems, conduct systematic and in-depth analyses, and translate findings into recommended actions.

What You Will Do

  • Own key payment metrics, data marts, and Tableau dashboards to provide accurate and scalable visibility into business and product performance.
  • Conduct systematic deep-dive analyses to diagnose business problems, uncover drivers and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze payment funnels, customer behavior, payment methods, conversion, transaction success, and other key business trends.
  • Partner with Product and Business teams to define OKRs, identify analytical opportunities, and influence product and business decisions.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation, including metric design, experiment readouts, deep dives, and interpretation of business impact.
  • Identify gaps in existing metrics and data, and design reusable datasets, analytical frameworks, and self-service solutions.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to business, product, and leadership stakeholders and drive alignment on recommended actions.
  • Explore new analytics technologies, including LLM/Generative AI, to improve analytical depth, productivity, and decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, business analytics, or a related quantitative role.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets and building data marts.
  • Strong experience with Tableau or similar BI/visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently structure ambiguous business problems and conduct rigorous, in-depth analysis.
  • Strong business judgment with a track record of translating data into insights, recommendations, and measurable actions.
  • Experience defining business/product metrics and supporting experimentation or A/B testing.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with professional proficiency in English and/or Chinese (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, or other high-volume transaction businesses.
  • Experience with Python, Spark/Hive, Redshift, Airflow, or similar data technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, experimental design, and causal inference.
  • Experience applying LLM/Generative AI or other emerging technologies to analytics, automation, or business problem-solving.
  • For more senior candidates, demonstrated experience leading complex analytical initiatives, developing scalable analytics frameworks, and influencing product or business strategy.

Recruitment Process

  • Application Review - Phone Interview - Onsite (or Virtual Onsite) Interview – Offer
  • The exact nature of the recruitment process may vary according to the specific job and may be changed due to scheduling or other circumstances.
  • Interview schedules and the results will be informed to the applicant via the e-mail address submitted at the application stage.

Details to Consider

  • Job titles and responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the candidate’s overall experience, etc. This will be communicated to the candidate at the appropriate time before the offer.
  • Hiring may be restricted in case the legal qualifications required for hiring and work performance is not met.
