About the role

At Sharpsmart, we are looking for a commercially minded Contract Manager to own a portfolio of healthcare customer accounts and play a critical role in our growth strategy.

This is not a traditional account management role. We are looking for someone who can build influential senior stakeholder relationships, clearly demonstrate value, drive retention, identify growth opportunities and become a trusted partner to our customers.

As Contract Manager, you will manage customer contracts throughout their lifecycle—from mobilisation and day-to-day performance management to review, renewal and continuous improvement. You will work closely with customers and internal operational teams to ensure contractual commitments are understood, delivered and evidenced.

This is a varied role requiring strong commercial judgement, excellent stakeholder management and a practical, solutions-focused approach to resolving issues before they affect customer experience or contract performance.

If you are passionate about delivering excellent customer outcomes, improving commercial performance and building long-term partnerships, we would love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the commercial performance, retention and profitability of a portfolio of healthcare customer accounts.
  • Build influential relationships with operational, commercial and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead Executive Business Reviews (EBRs), using performance data and insight to shape strategic customer plans.
  • Clearly demonstrate the value SharpSmart delivers through measurable service, financial and sustainability outcomes.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans that protect revenue and unlock new opportunities.
  • Identify and proactively manage commercial, contractual and operational risks.
  • Protect contract value and margin through robust scope, pricing and change control.
  • Use customer insight, market intelligence and performance trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Finance and Sales to resolve issues and improve customer outcomes.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships that strengthen retention, customer advocacy and sustainable growth.

About you

You will be commercially minded, customer focused and confident managing strategic accounts in a fast-paced service environment.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience managing key customer relationships, contracts or strategic accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including revenue, margin, retention and growth.
  • The ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.
  • Experience leading customer reviews and presenting performance, value and improvement plans.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach to resolving issues and managing risk.
  • The ability to work effectively with Operations, Customer Service, Finance and Sales teams.
  • Confidence using performance data and customer insight to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
  • Experience in healthcare, B2B services, facilities management or another operational service environment would be advantageous.

What we can offer

At Sharpsmart, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a business that helps create safer, more sustainable healthcare environments. In return for your expertise and commitment, we offer:

A competitive salary and benefits package.

  • The opportunity to manage strategic healthcare customer relationships and directly influence retention, growth and commercial performance.
  • A high-profile role with exposure to senior customer stakeholders and cross-functional business leaders.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment where your ideas and commercial insight are valued.
  • The chance to work for an organisation with a clear purpose: improving safety, sustainability and efficiency in healthcare.
  • Ongoing development opportunities, with scope to broaden your commercial, customer and leadership experience.
  • A role where you can see the direct impact of your work on customer outcomes, long-term partnerships and business growth.

At Sharpsmart, we're on an exciting journey as we continue to grow, innovate and strengthen our position as the UK's leading healthcare waste management partner.

You'll join a business that values collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement, with opportunities to make a genuine impact for customers, colleagues and the healthcare sector.

One Team. One Customer. One Purpose.

Ready to build trusted partnerships, create value and help shape the future of healthcare services? We'd love to hear from you.
