Job Title: Consultant in Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health to join our NHS client in Hove, Sussex. This is a full-time locum opportunity offering a dynamic role within a supportive and multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs in both inpatient and community settings
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised treatment plans
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and case conferences
- Ensure legal compliance with the Mental Health Act, including responsibilities under Section 12 approval
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and supervision of junior medical staff
Qualifications & Experience
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act
- Significant experience in adult psychiatry, ideally in both inpatient and CMHT settings
- Excellent leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
