The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once. You know how to keep things moving, communicate clearly, and catch issues before they become bigger problems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage retail construction projects from initial planning and pre-construction through completion and turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review construction plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to project plans.
  • Track project timelines and identify potential delays or issues before they impact the project.
  • Manage project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
  • Review contractor bids, estimates, and proposals.
  • Partner with the Director of Store Construction to evaluate project costs and make informed decisions.
  • Ensure construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Buck Mason’s standards.
  • Partner with Retail, Operations, Finance, Design, and other internal teams to coordinate project needs and timelines.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and building representatives as needed.
  • Oversee project closeout, including final inspections, punch lists, and outstanding construction items.
  • Maintain project documentation, warranties, and relevant records.
  • Support store openings, remodels, renovations, and other construction-related initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve construction processes and project execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely and in accordance with applicable requirements

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in retail, commercial, or hospitality construction.
  • Proven experience managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, invoices, change orders, and contractor estimates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and project management software.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and travel to retail locations and construction sites as needed.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards, permitting, and inspection processes.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to managing projects and resolving challenges

Buck Mason designs updated, modern American classics for daily wear. Founded in 2013 by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen, who were neighbors in Venice, California, they initially set up shop in a 350 square foot garage off Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Using old school manufacturing techniques combined with modern technology, they took an architectural approach to the product with the goal of making fashion less complicated, building each piece to last beyond a single season.

Here at Buck Mason, we're all about transparency and fairness, especially when it comes to compensation. While the base salary range for this role is $80,000-110,000 per year, your total compensation package may include bonuses and other perks tailored to your performance and dedication to our craft.
