About the role

We’re seeking a Computational Chemist to join us in our mission to transform the discovery of therapeutics.

As a member of the Schrödinger Therapeutics Group (STG), you’ll join a team of over 60 scientists that includes designers, modelers, computational chemists, medicinal chemists, crystallographers, biochemists, and biologists with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers, as well as a large-scale computer infrastructure.

Who will love this job

  • A structure-based drug designer who may have postdoctoral or pharma/biotech experience
  • An excellent communicator who’s been exposed to one or more other disciplines of relevance to drug discovery, such as synthetic organic chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, formulation, biochemistry, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry
  • A computational chemist who’s familiar with coding/scripting languages and/or chemically-aware databases
  • A team player who enjoys working in interdisciplinary environments

What you’ll do

  • Provide computational chemistry/modeling support to active drug discovery projects while assisting and developing appropriate modeling approaches to help drive drug discovery projects and methods development
  • Troubleshoot computational problems
  • Share knowledge with the greater Schrödinger Therapeutic Group (STG)
  • Work closely with the internal software development teams to improve Schrödinger’s drug discovery technologies

What you should have

  • Ph.D. in computational chemistry, or related field
  • Robust scientific training in molecular modeling, statistical mechanics, and/or quantum mechanics, as well as one or more of the following areas: computationally-driven lead optimization, molecular dynamics, free-energy methods, machine learning, virtual ligand screening, cheminformatics, ADMET modeling

Pay and perks

Schrödinger understands it’s people that make a company great. Because of this, we’re prepared to offer a competitive salary, equity-based compensation, and a wide range of benefits that include healthcare (with dental and vision), a 401k, pre-tax commuter benefits, a flexible work schedule, and a parental leave program.
