About the role

About BMD

BMD is Australia's leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business. As the largest privately owned civil contractor in Australia, BMD is at the forefront of excellence.

Over a 45-year history, BMD has grown to become a $2 billion operation, now sharing our expertise internationally in the Philippines and the UK.

About the Project

The Tram to Springvale Alliance (TSA), made up of BMD Constructions, CPB Contractors and Arup, is delivering the Eastern Freeway Upgrades between Tram and Springvale roads. The works include new express lanes, upgraded noise walls, and revitalised areas of the Koonung Creek Linear Park.

The project is being delivered under an Alliance Contract with Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA), forming a single, collaborative team. As part of the North East Link Program (NELP), the upgrade will improve safety and efficiency for over 135,000 daily vehicles, remove 15,000 trucks from local roads, and reduce traffic across the Yarra River by 50,000 vehicles per day.

We’re completing the link together and bringing it home for our community.

The Role

As a Completions Engineer, you'll support the management of progressive completions, defects and handover documentation across the TSA project. You'll ensure construction works are verified, documented and ready for client handover in accordance with contractual and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor completion status, identify gaps and drive the close-out of outstanding works.
  • Manage defects, punch lists and outstanding actions through to completion.
  • Prepare, review and submit handover documentation to the client.
  • Support inspections, verification activities and stakeholder reviews.
  • Maintain completion registers, reporting tools and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to process improvements and provide guidance to project teams on completions requirements.

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Experience on major infrastructure, civil construction or similar project environments.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, quality systems and project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience supporting project handover, defects management, quality assurance or close-out activities.
  • Experience with document management systems such as Aconex, InEight, TeamBinder or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.

  • Be part of a nationally respected contractor with a strong local presence
  • Benefit from job security, competitive salary, and long-term project pipeline
  • Clear career progression and ongoing professional development
