About the role

Communications Associate

Cambridge, UK | Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid

Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 DOE

About the role

We are looking for a Communications Associate to support the delivery of Riverlane's corporate communications programme during an exciting period of company growth.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will help coordinate and execute communications activity across stakeholder engagement programmes, corporate social media, and strategic communications initiatives. Working across the business, you will support efforts to strengthen Riverlane's reputation and visibility among key stakeholders, including customers, partners, investors, government organisations and the wider quantum ecosystem.

This is a unique opportunity to join Riverlane's newly established Communications function. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business and collaborate with Riverlane's global communications agency, gaining exposure to communications programmes spanning the UK, US and wider international quantum ecosystem.

The role offers significant scope for development and is ideally suited to a highly organised, intellectually curious individual who enjoys writing, project coordination and working across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced technology environment

What you will do

As a Communications Associate, you will:

  • Own Riverlane's LinkedIn editorial calendar and develop engaging written content that supports company objectives and corporate reputation
  • Support executive social media activity and employee advocacy around key company announcements and milestones
  • Support the planning and delivery of stakeholder events, including logistics, communications materials and follow-up activities
  • Manage awards, rankings and industry recognition programmes, including identifying opportunities and coordinating submissions
  • Support event speaker submissions and the delivery of executive and employee speaking opportunities
  • Maintain communications calendars, planning documents and reporting trackers
  • Maintain communications assets, speaker biographies, company boilerplate and other corporate communications materials
  • Support the Head of Communications in the execution of corporate communications programmes and major company announcements

What we need

  • Relevant experience in communications, public relations, corporate affairs, events or a related field, gained through internships, placements or full-time roles
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience creating content for social media, publications or other communications channels
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadline
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly absorb new information and communicate complex topics clearly and effectively
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving technology environment

Even better if...

  • You have an interest in technology, science, innovation or public policy, and enthusiasm for learning about quantum computing

What can you expect from us

  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes an annual bonus plan, private medical insurance, life insurance, and a contributory pension scheme
  • Equity, so that our team can share in the long-term success of Riverlane
  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave
  • A diverse work environment that brings together experts in many fields (including software and hardware development, quantum information theory, physics and maths) and over 20 different nationalities
  • A learning environment that encourages individual, team and company growth and development, including a regular programme of learning events and training and conference budgets
