This is primarily a software and cloud development role, not a traditional data engineering position. The successful candidate will design, develop, integrate, and deploy cloud-based applications and services while working with technologies such as AWS, Lambda, Kubernetes, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and modern programming languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based software applications and services.
  • Develop and integrate solutions within AWS, including serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
  • Build and maintain APIs and integrations between applications, services, and enterprise systems.
  • Develop software using languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C++.
  • Deploy and support containerized applications using Kubernetes and related cloud-native technologies.
  • Support automated build, test, deployment, and release processes through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot application, integration, and cloud-environment issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to integrate software across complex systems.
  • Contribute to ETL workflows, data pipelines, and data integration activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong professional experience in software or application development.
  • Hands-on experience developing or supporting solutions in AWS.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as:
  • Python
  • Java
  • C#
  • C++
  • Experience developing or integrating REST APIs and/or web services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or cloud-native application environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated software delivery.
  • Experience integrating applications, services, or distributed systems.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Dahlgren, VA, Monday through Friday.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain SCI eligibility within 30 days, as required for the position. Continued employment/offer eligibility is contingent upon successfully meeting this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless application development.
  • Experience building or supporting ETL processes or data pipelines.
  • Background in backend development, DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud engineering.
  • Experience supporting applications in secure, mission-critical, DoD, or government environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and modern cloud deployment practices.
