About the role

At Montu, we are transforming access to medical cannabis treatment across the UK, and our Clinical Pharmacists play an important role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care.

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) to join our growing London team. This is an opportunity to use your clinical expertise in an evolving area of healthcare, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their treatment journey.

Whether you already have experience in cannabis-based medicinal products or are looking to develop your knowledge in this specialist field, we offer the training and support to help you build your expertise while making a meaningful difference to patients' lives.

What is the job?

As a Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber), you will provide safe, effective and personalised treatment to patients with a wide range of clinical needs.

Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for clinically reviewing prescriptions, prescribing appropriate treatments and providing expert clinical guidance to patients and colleagues.

You will also contribute to the development of clinical pathways, support patient and staff education and play an important role in maintaining the highest standards of clinical care.

This is a hybrid position based at our King's Cross office in London, requiring three days on site and two days working remotely.

Please note you will be required to work 1 Saturday per month onsite, for which a day in lieu will be given.

What will you be doing?

  • Clinically check and review cannabis-based medicinal product (CBPM) prescriptions to ensure safety, accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Prescribe medicines as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatment to individual patient needs.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance to patients and prescribers on treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with GPhC standards.
  • Support the dispensary team with complex clinical queries and prescribing-related matters.
  • Deliver education and training on CBPM to patients, clinicians and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the wider Clinical and Pharmacy teams to ensure a safe and effective patient journey.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and improvements in patient care.
  • Ensure all clinical activities are conducted in accordance with professional, regulatory and organisational standards.

What are we looking for?

  • GPhC registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
  • A minimum of two years of prescribing experience.
  • Experience working within a clinical setting.
  • Previous knowledge or experience of cannabis-based medicinal products is desirable but not essential, as specialist training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with patients and clinical colleagues.
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to make safe, evidence-based prescribing decisions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, resourceful and solutions-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and clinical governance.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

What do we offer?

  • Generous Annual Leave: 25 days holiday, increasing to 27 days after one year and 30 days after three years, plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Pension Contributions: Employer pension matching of up to 5%.
  • Private Healthcare Scheme.
  • Hybrid Working: A combination of office-based and remote working.
  • Cycle-to-Work Scheme: Supporting healthier and more sustainable commuting.
  • Career Development: Opportunities to develop specialist clinical knowledge, collaborate across teams and represent Montu at industry events.
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave.
