About the role

We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to Renal Dialysis and Therapies.

The renal dialysis unit located at SCUH has a capacity for 8 patients per shift to provide haemodialysis treatment for renal acute inpatients and outpatients. In addition, Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) and out of unit dialysis (Intensive Care, Coronary Care Unit, and the renal ward) are also provided daily. An on-call service is also provided, outside of business hours. The renal dialysis unit located at Caloundra has a capacity for 10 patients per shift to provide in centre/satellite haemodialysis.

Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Coordinating each shift in the acute dialysis unit at SCUH, including patient scheduling, supervision, and delegation to RNs and ENAS. The CN is expected to show time management skills in a very fast changing environment.
  • Coordinating shifts in the chronic dialysis unit located at Caloundra Hospital including patient scheduling, supervision, and delegation to RNs and ENAS. It is an expectation of the role, that cross cover between sites may arise.
  • Lead and support different portfolios and quality improvement activities within the unit, some of which may be delegated to RNs and ENAS within these portfolios.
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager from an operational and human resource perspective, including performing PADs and organising emergent leave. The CN is expected to independently work in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager.

Remuneration value up to $139 931 p.a., comprising salary between $114 532 - $122 643 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $57.76 - $61.85 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1) (full time and/or part time positions available, hours negotiable). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
