About the role

About us

Fast-paced, 24/7 and always ready to respond, the Gladstone Emergency Department is where urgent care meets teamwork. From initial treatment and resuscitation to stabilising seriously unwell patients, our team cares for people of all ages, with plans underway for a dedicated paediatric zone.

Serving around 62,660 residents across Gladstone, Mount Larcom, Miriam Vale and Calliope, we treat approximately 35,000 patients every year, with children making up around 25% of presentations. Every shift brings something different, and every patient matters!

About the role

  • Lead from the front! Deliver high-level nursing care to patients with complex needs, using advanced clinical skills, critical thinking and sound judgement to respond when every second counts.
  • Make quality care happen. Put your expertise to work improving patient outcomes, managing changing clinical situations and ensuring care meets professional standards, policies and best practice.
  • Share your knowledge. Support, mentor and educate fellow nurses, build clinical confidence and help create a workplace where learning and development never stop.
  • Be a driver of change. Get involved in clinical audits, research and quality improvement initiatives, helping turn evidence into action and lead better ways of delivering patient care.

About you

  • Hold current AHPRA nursing registration and bring advanced assessment, critical thinking and care coordination skills to support patients with complex needs. A relevant postgraduate qualification is expected, or a commitment to complete one within an agreed timeframe.
  • Inspire and support fellow nurses, lead by example and bring confidence, integrity and a strong commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams, using excellent communication, collaboration and conflict-resolution skills to keep everyone working towards the best outcomes.
  • Confidently assess, plan, deliver and evaluate complex nursing care while balancing competing priorities and keeping patients at the heart of every decision.

What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $139,931 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.76 - $61.85 p.h.
