About the role

About us

The Community Forensic Outreach Service (CFOS) is a team within the broader Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS). CFOS provides high level clinical risk assessment and therapy services for the management of mental health consumers who have committed, are alleged to have committed or are at risk of committing an offence.

Our values were developed by our staff, patients and community. They guide our work and actions every day. Our staff are part of the community we serve. We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.

About your role

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to treating teams in the management and monitoring of patients with complex forensic issues (including a mandated role with Forensic Order patients).
  • Undertake specialist risk assessments using structured risk assessment tools and protocols, and write comprehensive reports based on these assessments, as well as provide follow up support to treating teams in implementing recommendations and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide a range of consultation-liaison support including case conferences, structured case consultations, attendance at and input into team case review meetings, participation in review processes, and so on, including attendance at Assessment and Risk Management Committee meetings.
