Operating within a secure correctional environment, the service provides multidisciplinary care tailored to each person's needs, from urgent health concerns and chronic disease management to preventative health, treatment and rehabilitation. • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to nursing staff.
  • Monitor disease trends, manage health data and support outbreak response and disease control planning.
  • Collaborate with specialist health services and community agencies to coordinate care and support prisoners transitioning back into the community.

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse; relevant postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of public health nursing, communicable diseases, blood-borne viruses and sexual health.
  • Knowledge of immunisation, disease prevention and outbreak management; Immunisation Program Nurse training is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of health inequalities and the complexities of delivering healthcare in a correctional setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving and networking skills, with a commitment to teamwork, continuous learning and quality improvement.
