About the role

What your day could look like

As a Clinical Nurse - Child Health, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and families to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes. From providing expert clinical care and early intervention support to partnering with families and healthcare professionals, you'll contribute to healthier communities while working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering high-quality child and family health services that promote healthy growth, development and wellbeing.
  • Building trusted relationships with families, empowering them with education and guidance to make informed health decisions.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.
  • Leading quality improvement, mentoring and professional development activities that strengthen service excellence and patient outcomes.

Let's talk about you!

You're a compassionate clinician who enjoys building trusted relationships and making a difference in the lives of children and families. You combine strong clinical skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and person-centred care. Every day, you'll help families feel supported, informed and confident as they navigate their child's health journey.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant child health qualifications.
  • Experience in child and family health assessment and care delivery.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to quality care and ongoing professional growth.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have rural or community health experience and/or additional postgraduate study relevant to child health.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.

Together, you'll help children and families thrive through care that makes a lasting difference.
