About the role

About the role

As a Senior Clinical Measurement Scientist (Respiratory) within the Respiratory Investigation Unit, you will deliver high-quality respiratory clinical measurement services across a range of healthcare settings, supporting safe, accurate and evidence-based patient care. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will perform both routine and complex respiratory investigations while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with recognised guidelines, ethical standards and quality assurance requirements.

You will also play a key role in advancing respiratory science capability by providing education, clinical supervision and mentorship to students, scientific staff and multidisciplinary teams. The role offers opportunities to contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of respiratory physiology practices across Metro North Health services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Perform routine and complex respiratory clinical measurement investigations, including advanced respiratory function testing, with a high level of clinical skill and independence.
  • Lead quality assurance activities, competency assessments and clinical education initiatives to support continuous improvement in respiratory science services.
  • Provide expert supervision, mentorship and support to students, new team members and less experienced scientific staff.
  • Contribute to the development, review and implementation of laboratory procedures, documentation and contemporary respiratory physiology practices.
  • Actively participate in research, service improvement projects and multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.

Benefits when working for us

  • Rewarding career and development opportunities across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas
  • Value driven organisation which provides a work environment that is safe, satisfying, flexible, and promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Flexible working arrangements and competitive salary rates with annual incremental increases
  • Benefit from a higher than standard employer contribution to Superannuation of up to 12.75% and access to salary packaging

Metro North Health offers a dynamic and progressive environment at the forefront of healthcare, research, and education. With a strong commitment to inclusion, flexibility, and professional development, we provide meaningful opportunities in a workplace that puts people first.
