About the role

Reports To: President

About This Role

Reporting to the President of ITF Therapeutics US, the Chief of Staff will operate at the center of ITF Therapeutics, serving as a strategic thought partner to the President and an integrator across the leadership team. The Chief of Staff will help shape enterprise priorities, improve the quality and speed of decision-making, translate strategy into coordinated execution, and continuously evolve the operating model as ITF scales into a rare disease portfolio company that make a positive contribution to a range of patient communities.

This is a broad, highly visible role requiring equal strength in strategy, execution, and organizational savvy. The successful candidate will be comfortable framing ambiguous problems, challenging and influencing senior leaders, navigating a global/local matrix, and moving fluidly between enterprise-level strategic questions and hands-on execution. The Chief of Staff will work across functions without displacing functional ownership, stepping in where issues span organizational boundaries, ownership is unclear, or additional enterprise leadership is required.

What You'll Do

Strategic & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner and sounding board to the President, bringing an independent point of view and helping frame the most important strategic and operating questions facing the business.
  • Identify, structure, and drive resolution of complex or ambiguous enterprise issues, developing options, trade-offs, and recommendations to support timely decision-making.
  • Prepare the President for high stakes internal and external moments, including Board meetings, leadership discussions, and organizational communications.
  • Partner with the President on enterprise communications, helping translate strategy, decisions and priorities into clear narratives for employees, leadership, Board and global stakeholders.
  • Model company values and champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and patient centered decision-making.
  • Work closely with Group CEO chief of staff to coordinate key business processes and keep abreast of key business issues and shepherd our organizations as needed to address key opportunities and issues.

Enterprise Strategy & Planning

  • Own the design and execution of ITF's planning cadences, including long-range planning, annual strategic planning, and the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Lead enterprise goal setting, translating strategy into a focused set of priorities that the leadership team can commit to and the organization can execute.
  • Ensure functional plans align to enterprise priorities, surfacing gaps, dependencies, and conflicts early.
  • Partner with finance and functional leaders to integrate strategic priorities, resource requirements and financial constraints into enterprise planning; surface competing demands and trade-offs for leadership team decision-making and ensure agreed resource decisions are reflected in operating plans.

Business Performance & Enterprise Execution

  • Own the enterprise business performance framework and review cadence, partnering with business and functional leaders to define the critical measures of performance and ensure consistent, decision-useful reporting.
  • Lead high-priority enterprise initiatives where ownership spans functions, significant ambiguity exists or additional enterprise leadership is required.
  • Structure complex cross-functional work into clear objectives, workplans, decisions, dependencies, and accountabilities, and drive organizational execution through completion.
  • Identify where ways of working break down or are inefficient as the company scales and drive solutions, coordinating with Group CEO chief of staff as needed where processes extend beyond the US environment.
  • Establish permanent ownership and operating mechanisms for initiatives once they are sufficiently mature to transition into the organization.

Governance & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Own the leadership team operating rhythm, including agendas, pre-reads, facilitation, decision capture, and follow-through.
  • Design and evolve the enterprise governance model, defining which forums exist, what each is accountable for, what each decides, who participates and how issues escalate.
  • Prepare the President and leadership team for Board and Joint Steering Committee meetings, owning the materials, the narrative, and pre-alignment with stakeholders.
  • Ensure leadership forums are decision-oriented, with clear decision rights, high-quality pre-work, recommendations + follow through.
  • Lead leadership team offsites end to end, from objectives and design through facilitation and outputs.
  • Establish and maintain the standards, templates, and operating mechanisms the enterprise uses, simplifying or retiring them when they no longer add value.
  • Partner with the President and leadership team to continually evolve the operating model, clarifying roles, interfaces, decision rights and accountabilities as the organization and portfolio grow.

Enterprise Integration & Stakeholder management

  • Serve as a key operating link between ITF Therapeutics and Italfarmaco, driving alignment across US & corporate priorities, planning, governance, reporting and decision-making.
  • Represent the President, as appropriate, with the leadership team, functional leaders, and external stakeholders, carrying intent accurately including when the message is difficult.
  • Build trusted relationships across functions and facilitate alignment among stakeholders with different priorities, perspectives, or incentives.
  • Connect work across functions without displacing functional accountability, helping leaders resolve dependencies and make decisions with an enterprise rather than purely functional perspective.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, life sciences or related field (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MPH or equivalent) preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology/pharmaceuticals, management consulting, strategy, business operations, program/portfolio leadership or related roles, including significant experience operating with senior executives.
