About the role

Join our Customer Liaison Officer team

Are you a people person who enjoys helping others, working in different locations and being part of a team that makes a real difference to customers travelling across the public transport network?

We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and customer-focused Casual Customer Liaison Officers (CLOs) to join our team across the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. As a CLO, you will be one of the friendly faces of Translink, providing face to face assistance to customers across the public transport network. No two shifts are necessarily the same. You could be helping customers navigate a network change, providing information during a service disruption, supporting a major event, or helping customers understand public transport services, fares and ticketing.

What you will do

As a Customer Liaison Officer, you will:

  • Deliver friendly, professional, and high-quality customer service across the Translink network.
  • Provide customers with accurate and up-to-date information about public transport services, fares, ticketing, and travel options.
  • Assist customers during network changes, service disruptions, projects, and planned closures.
  • Provide customer support and wayfinding at stations, bus interchanges, and other key network locations.
  • Support major public transport and community events, including the introduction of new infrastructure and services.
  • Promote public transport and represent the Translink brand positively and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with your CLO colleagues, operational teams, and stakeholders to deliver a positive customer experience.

About you

We recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and are looking for applicants whose experience, skills and personal qualities make them well suited to this highly customer-focused role. You will enjoy working with people and be confident engaging with customers from a wide range of backgrounds. You will be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working in a changing operational environment.

To thrive as a CLO, you will have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a customer-focused service industry involving direct frontline customer engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • The ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Good time management, organisational and self-management skills.
  • A positive approach to teamwork and supporting your colleagues.
  • The flexibility to work at different locations according to operational requirements.

Availability and locations

We are currently seeking casual CLOs to support our operations across the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. You will need flexibility to work Monday to Friday between 6.00 am and 6.00 pm across various locations on the public transport network. Some weekend work may also be required to support special events, projects, and operational activities.

Important information about casual hours

This is a casual, shift-based position and working hours will vary according to operational requirements. At times there may be limited shifts available, while busier periods, major projects, network changes, and events may provide increased opportunities for work. If you are flexible, enjoy meeting people and would like to play a hands-on role in helping customers confidently navigate Queensland's public transport network, we would love to receive your application.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
