About the role

By applying to be a Senior Cardiac Physiologist with Central Queensland Health, you're choosing to step into a role that genuinely values your expertise and supports your professional growth. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver high-level cardiac diagnostics to both inpatients and outpatients, while contributing to education, quality improvement and service development that shapes cardiac care across Central Queensland. With opportunities spanning echocardiography, pacing, non-invasive testing and the evolving Cardiac Catheterisation Lab, your work will be varied, impactful and future-focused. Beyond the workplace, Rockhampton offers an affordable regional lifestyle - more space, shorter commutes and lower living costs - giving you the freedom to build a rewarding career while enjoying a balanced, connected way of life.

About us

The Cardiac Investigations Unit offers a range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, and ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring. Expansion to Cardiac Services will see a Cardiac Catheterisation Lab (CCL) commence in 2026 with Cardiac Physiologist led haemodynamic monitoring.

About the role

  • Deliver senior-level cardiac investigations across assigned clinical portfolios including echocardiography, pacing, non-invasive testing and Cath Lab services.
  • Maintain flexibility across modalities to ensure patient-centred, timely and responsive care.
  • Provide diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatient caseloads.
  • Contribute to the delivery of future outreach clinics across Central Queensland Health.
  • Support service development, education and quality initiatives within Cardiac Investigations.

About you

  • You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in science or applied science with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology.
  • You have advanced experience in cardiac diagnostics and senior clinical practice.
  • You demonstrate leadership in education, quality improvement or service development.
  • You communicate confidently and work collaboratively across teams.
  • You're adaptable, patient-focused and committed to regional health outcomes.
  • You're motivated to contribute to the growth of cardiac services in Central Queensland.
