About the role

Murgon State School is a Partnership Initiative School

The Partnership Initiative recognises that a small number of schools in Queensland need extra, coordinated support to respond to local challenges and opportunities.

This support involves different parts of government working together to create effective solutions for these communities.

These schools are committed to working beyond the classroom, partnering with families and communities to make shared decisions.

This approach helps ensure that every student has the best possible chance to succeed at school. The Partnership Initiative includes several parts that operate at both the school level and the broader system level. Together, these parts help schools respond more effectively to local needs and priorities.

Your opportunity

  • Assist the Principal with the preparation of the school budget and administer day to day financial matters (i.e. accounts payable/receivable, corporate card monitoring, reconciliations, banking). Input and export data to/from OneSchool for the Principal, to assist with budgeting and financial management.
  • Undertake the day to day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance
  • Communicate with internal and external key stakeholders (e.g. school and departmental staff, parents, students, and community members) in a way that encourages cooperation in complying with technical, business and administrative requirements; provides information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives; and demonstrates empathy, emotional understanding and support.

Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.
