About the role

About Prosper AI

At Prosper AI, we're pioneering the most advanced conversational AI agents tailored for the healthcare industry. Since our founding, we've successfully onboarded dozens of major customers, empowering hospitals and multispecialty clinics to get paid faster and more efficiently, through streamlined revenue cycle management.

Our AI agent, Paige, handles tasks like patient scheduling, eligibility checks, prior authorizations, claim status follow-ups, reducing costs by over 50% for healthcare operations teams. We’re backed by top investors including Y Combinator (Airbnb, Coinbase) and Emergence Capital (Salesforce, Zoom), trusted by innovative healthcare organizations, and are reshaping a $4T industry.

The Role

We’re looking for a driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help fuel growth across healthcare providers, medical billing companies, and pharmacy hubs. You’ll be on the front lines of our go-to-market motion—identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers, and setting up high-quality opportunities for the sales team. You’re proactive, curious about product and AI, and energized by building pipeline in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

This role is in person in New York City.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and qualify potential customers through outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn)
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to build and maintain a healthy pipeline
  • Run targeted outbound campaigns in collaboration with Marketing
  • Conduct initial discovery calls to understand customer pain points and assess fit
  • Clearly articulate Prosper’s value proposition and secure next-step meetings
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline tracking in CRM tools
  • Share market and customer insights with Sales and Product teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–4+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role
  • Strong interest in B2B sales, ideally in healthcare, SaaS, or AI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and high-volume outreach
  • Organized, resilient, and motivated by clear goals and metrics
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Eagerness to learn the product, industry, and sales craft quickly

Why Prosper

  • Early traction with real customers and revenue
  • Huge opportunity in a broken healthcare workflow
  • Competitive base salary + commission + equity
  • Clear growth path into Account Executive or other GTM roles
  • Fast-moving, high-trust team with real ownership

Compensation

  • Base: $60,000 - $70,000 + Equity & Benefits (OTE $104,000 - $125,000)
