About the role

At MeridianLink, our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) play a critical role in driving growth by helping financial institutions discover smarter ways to serve their customers. As a BDR, you’ll be on the front lines connecting with prospective customers, uncovering real business challenges, and creating high-quality opportunities for our sales team. The Business Development Representative will secure leads by identifying and qualifying sales opportunities and passing them to inside and/or outside sales teams. In this role you will produce qualified prospects by following up on inbound leads from various marketing programs or conducting outbound, proactive calling to target accounts or markets. The role will nurture prospects over time, discover needs, offer relevant resources, and learn where they are in the buying process to help propel the sale forward.

This role is ideal for someone who’s curious, driven, and excited about building relationships, learning the sales craft, and making a direct impact on revenue.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage new prospects through a mix of inbound leads and targeted outbound outreach
  • Identify, qualify, and develop sales opportunities that align with MeridianLink’s solutions
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to move qualified opportunities forward
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand a prospect’s business challenges, priorities, and buying stage
  • Educate prospects by sharing relevant insights, resources, and product capabilities
  • Maintain accurate activity and opportunity tracking in CRM tools
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive offerings, and the financial services landscape

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently delivering high-quality, sales-accepted leads
  • Strong collaboration with Account Executives and Marketing partners
  • Building trust and credibility with prospects through meaningful conversations
  • Demonstrating steady improvement in call quality, discovery conversations, and opportunity conversion

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, or a customer-facing role
  • Strong communication skills, you’re comfortable talking with senior-level stakeholders
  • Curiosity and coachability; you want feedback and use it to get better
  • Ability to balance activity with thoughtful, personalized outreach to uncover real business needs
  • Skilled in handling rejection and navigating objections
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

Why MeridianLink

  • Exposure to a growing fintech company serving banks and credit unions nationwide
  • Growth paths into Account Executive or other sales roles
  • Collaborative, team-oriented sales culture
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact on revenue and customer success
