About the role

Mō mātou | About Us

Linfox is Australasia’s largest privately-owned logistics company, delivering supply chain solutions across transport, warehousing, and freight management. In New Zealand, we partner with leading brands to deliver exceptional service, innovation, and operational excellence. Our people are the heart of our business, living our values of Loyalty, Integrity, Fairness and Trust every day.

Te āheinga | The Opportunity

As the Business Development Lead for Linfox in New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in our growth agenda. Working as 2IC to the National Business Development Manager, you will support in the tender and RFP responses that win new business – partnering closely with our Business Development, Commercial and Operations teams to turn complex customer requirements into compelling, winning proposals across warehousing and transport.

Operating cross-functionally, this role is the operational engine of our New Zealand business development function. You will own the analytical and administrative heavy lifting of the bid process, bring structure and discipline to the pipeline, and support the National Manager on customers and growth.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end tender and bid submissions, from qualification to award.
  • Develop compelling proposals and logistics solutions across transport and warehousing.
  • Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to shape pricing and business opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to deliver winning customer solutions.
  • Manage pipeline governance, reporting and bid processes to drive growth.
  • Build customer relationships through market analysis, site visits and business development initiatives.

Ō pūkenga | About You

You are a sharp, sales driven operator with a background in business development support, bid/tender management, or project management in a B2B environment.

Logistics experience is an advantage but not essential – what matters most is that you are commercially minded, operationally aware, a strong writer, and genuinely motivated to represent Linfox and win. You are comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and building relationships that grow over time.

The ideal candidate can demonstrate

  • Experience in business development support, bid/tender management, or project management within a B2B environment.
  • Logistics or supply chain experience preferred but not essential; strong transferable B2B experience welcomed.
  • A commercial background or exposure – for example pricing, cost modelling, or pipeline governance (highly desirable).
  • An operational mindset – able to genuinely understand logistics operations and customer needs.
  • Strong analytical, lateral-thinking and planning skills, with excellent written communication for RFP-quality responses.
  • The ability to manage multiple bids, timelines, and stakeholders to deadline.
  • Confidence engaging with senior leaders and customer representatives.
  • Ability to develop and implement standardised processes and governance frameworks.

Ngā painga | What is in it for you?

At Linfox, we believe in developing and supporting our people. You will join a values-driven organisation with the opportunity to:

  • Drive national growth outcomes and influence strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with leading customers and complex supply chain solutions.
  • Be part of a collaborative, high-performing leadership environment.
  • Make a meaningful impact across New Zealand operations.
