About the role

About Decagon

Decagon is the leading conversational AI platform empowering every brand to deliver concierge customer experiences.

Our technology enables industry-defining enterprises like Avis Budget Group, Block’s Cash App and Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas to deploy AI agents that power personalized, deeply satisfying interactions across voice, chat, email, SMS, and every other channel.

We’re building a future where customer experiences are being redefined from support tickets and hold music to faster resolutions, richer conversations, and deeper relationships. We’re proud to be backed by world-class investors who share that vision, including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures, along with many others.

We’re an in-office company, driven by a shared commitment to excellence and velocity. Our values — Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle — shape how we work and grow as a team.

About the Role

Decagon is scaling rapidly, and we're looking for a healthcare leader to join the Founder's Office and drive our expansion across Payer, Provider, Life Sciences, and Health Tech. You'll help shape our healthcare strategy, build trusted relationships with senior industry leaders, and translate those relationships into strategic partnerships and commercial growth.

Working closely with Decagon's founders, executive team, and healthcare go-to-market leaders, you'll identify where AI agents can deliver the greatest value across healthcare. You'll bring a strong understanding of healthcare economics, organizational structures, and operational challenges, from claims and contact centers to patient access, pharmacy, and care management.

This role combines industry strategy, executive relationship development, and commercial execution, requiring the judgment and credibility to navigate complex healthcare organizations and position AI solutions in a highly regulated environment.

In this role, you will

  • Shape our healthcare growth. Identify priority segments, accounts, use cases, and partnerships to accelerate Decagon's expansion across the U.S. healthcare market.
  • Build executive relationships. Develop trusted relationships with C-suite executives, senior decision-makers, and industry leaders across Payer, Provider, Life Sciences, and Health Tech.
  • Advance strategic opportunities. Partner with Decagon's founders and healthcare go-to-market teams to originate and accelerate enterprise opportunities, navigate complex buying processes, and build alignment across business, clinical, technology, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Connect technology to business outcomes. Identify high-value applications for AI agents across healthcare operations, balancing business impact with clinical safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop strategic partnerships. Build relationships with consulting firms, systems integrators, EHR and health-tech platforms, contact center and BPO partners, and industry associations to expand Decagon's reach.
  • Activate our investor and advisor networks. Leverage existing relationships to open doors, deepen executive engagement, and advance strategic opportunities.
  • Represent Decagon in the market. Engage healthcare leaders through executive briefings, industry conferences, private events, and partner meetings.
  • Bring market insight into Decagon. Translate customer and partner feedback into recommendations for positioning, product priorities, and healthcare-specific trust and compliance requirements.

Your background looks something like this

  • 8–10 years of experience in healthcare, health technology, strategic growth, business development, or partnerships, with a track record of driving commercial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including healthcare economics, operational challenges, and enterprise technology buying processes, with meaningful expertise in one or more of Payer, Provider, Life Sciences, or Health Tech.
  • Established relationships with senior healthcare executives, operators, and industry partners, with the credibility to engage C-suite leaders and key decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop executive relationships and translate them into strategic partnerships, enterprise opportunities, and measurable business growth.
  • Ability to identify high-impact applications for AI across healthcare operations, including member and patient experience, claims, patient access, contact centers, and care management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, including HIPAA, PHI, and BAAs, and the ability to navigate conversations with clinical, legal, and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence, commercial judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across business, clinical, and technical functions.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to set priorities, operate independently, and execute in a fast-moving environment.
  • Willingness to travel for executive meetings, industry events, and strategic opportunities.
