About the role

We’re the airline that dares to do things a little differently. Bold, down-to-earth and built around giving our guests real choice.

Safety is our backbone, service is our heartbeat, and our people are our superpower. We blend heart and smarts to deliver experiences that feel good, work brilliantly and bring a spark of fun back to flying.

We’re vibrant, authentic and unapologetically human. Here, you can bring your whole self, your Virgin Flair and your ambition to a team that champions individuality, innovation and a whole lot of heart. If you’re excited by meaningful work, real opportunities to grow, and a culture where you can genuinely make a difference, you’ll feel right at home with us

Our Digital team is shaping the future of Virgin Australia through technology, data and innovation. We create seamless digital experiences, build modern platforms and solve complex challenges with curiosity, collaboration and a relentless focus on delivering value for our guests and our people.

What you’ll be doing…

As a Digital Business Analyst, you’ll join one of our Digital Squads, working alongside a Senior Business Analyst, Product Owners, engineers, architects, UX/UI designers and business stakeholders to help bring our digital strategy to life and create experiences our guests love.

You’ll work across the digital delivery lifecycle, helping teams understand the problem to be solved and translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements. You’ll facilitate workshops, gather and document requirements, develop user stories and acceptance criteria, map processes and support the delivery of new digital features and enhancements.

Working in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate closely with development and testing teams through solution design, testing, user acceptance and delivery. You’ll build strong relationships across the business, connect technical and non-technical stakeholders and help ensure solutions meet both customer and business needs

You’ll be great in this role if…

You’re an experienced Digital Business Analyst who enjoys getting into the detail, asking the right questions and turning business needs into practical digital solutions.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven Business Analyst experience delivering customer-facing digital websites, platforms or products through the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from requirements and discovery through to testing and go-live. (Essential)
  • Solid experience working on digital initiatives within large or complex environments, with a strong foundation in requirements gathering, process analysis, user stories and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, partnering with Product Owners, developers, testers and other technology specialists throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Confidence facilitating workshops and translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, analytical and curious approach, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge thinking constructively and take ownership of your BA deliverables.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence will also be valuable

It would be a bonus if you have

  • Experience within the airline, aviation or travel industry, including exposure to core airline systems.
  • Business Analysis certification or relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • An understanding of IT security, privacy, architecture frameworks or governance.

What you’ll get from us

  • Discounted flights for you and your loved ones, including $1,000 worth of travel credits per year
  • A flexible, hybrid work style. Work from home or the office (3 days a week in office)
  • Discounts on travel insurance, lounge membership, car hire, accommodation and experiences worldwide
  • Cheaper hospitality, retail, technology, beauty and wellness services
  • Free counselling and access to a wellbeing app to support your physical, mental, social and financial health
  • ‘Dress for Your Day’, enjoy the freedom to wear whatever makes you feel great for the type of work you do and the day you have ahead of you

When everyone is included, everyone wins

We’re all individuals. And we love that. That’s why we encourage applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, those from diverse cultural backgrounds, our friends in the LGBTQIA+ community, and anyone else who wants to join our family.
