About the role

About E2B

E2B is a fast-growing Series A startup with over $37M in funding and 8-figure revenue. We are building the Agent Cloud and power the infrastructure behind AI labs and some of the most widely used consumer and enterprise agents, including Manus, Genspark, Lindy, Groq, and Artificial Analysis. Our team includes original authors of Firecracker, the AWS microVM technology powering Lambda, along with alumni of Cognition, JetBrains, Zapier, and Wish.

About the role

You'll develop the Go services behind E2B's enterprise orchestration platform, which manages deployments in customers' AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure environments.

The platform coordinates operations across remote Kubernetes clusters and gives engineers the tools to understand and manage the fleet. You'll extend the APIs and distributed workflows behind it, from design through production operation.

You'll work with SREs across Enterprise Engineering to make customer deployments reliable and easy to operate.

You'll participate in production on-call for the components you own.

What you'll do

  • Build and operate Go services for cluster installation, configuration, scaling, upgrades, recovery, and decommissioning.
  • Develop distributed workflows that remain correct through partial failures, retries, and concurrent changes, and reconcile state across remote clusters.
  • Build fleet tools that show cluster inventory, health, configuration drift, rollout progress, and audit history, and help engineers diagnose failures.
  • Integrate Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and infrastructure packages into repeatable deployment workflows across supported cloud configurations.
  • Design APIs and data models for deployment state, configuration, and access validation. Build modular, well-tested orchestration software that other engineers can confidently extend.
  • Own the reliability of the services you build. Add observability and integration tests, validate releases and recovery behavior, and use incidents to address recurring failures.
  • Work with FDE, Solutions, and Support on complex deployment issues and software escalations.
  • Reduce manual fleet operations through automation and self-service tooling.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years building and operating production backend systems, ideally infrastructure control planes, deployment automation, or asynchronous services.
  • Strong Go skills, including concurrency, memory management, and profiling.
  • Strong distributed-systems fundamentals, including durable workflows, state machines, consistency, idempotency, and failure recovery.
  • Experience designing REST or gRPC APIs, including resource models, authentication, error handling, documentation, and backward-compatible changes.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, indexes, transactions, and migrations.
  • Experience testing and debugging long-running operations across unreliable networks and remote systems.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes and Helm experience, including working with cluster APIs and releases. You can debug issues across Go services, cloud IAM, networks, and containers.
  • You write maintainable, well-tested code and review AI-assisted changes for correctness and fit with the existing system.
  • Ability to take an ambiguous backend project from design through production.

Nice to have

  • Building AI agents or applications that use tools, execute code, or run in sandboxes.
  • Building control planes, Kubernetes operators, or infrastructure APIs.
  • Shipping BYOC, private-cloud, or self-hosted software into customer environments.
  • Building multi-cloud, multi-region, or multi-tenant systems.
  • Terraform modules, plans, and state; GitOps, Argo CD, or cloud-provider APIs.
  • Event-driven systems, message queues, or workflow engines.
  • Infrastructure, developer-tools, or AI-agent platform products.
  • TypeScript or Python alongside Go.
  • Open-source backend, Kubernetes, or distributed-systems contributions.

Compensation: $175K–$350K + equity
